We loved our stay during our visit this past weekend. The updated room is great and of course the bed is super comfortable. The fitness center is huge and very clean. The best part of this hotel is the service. Everyone was very kind. I’m always impressed when people actually remember names. Marc was great and accommodated our request over the phone to be near our son’s room who was also visiting. We came into town for a graduation. Barnavi was very kind and exceptional and made sure we were well taken care of. Thank you to the Benson! We will definitely be staying there again when we come to town:)

My two girl friends and I stayed here while visiting our friend who lives in Portland. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I got there a couple of hours before check-in, just hoping they would hold my bags until my room was ready, but to my pleasant surprise, the man at the front desk got me into a room right away. It was so nice after a long day of travel! Our room was clean and comfortable, though it's a little tight quarters, presumably because of how old the hotel is, so prepare for that. Loved learning about the lore of the hotel and having a drink in the bar area. My friend really loved the clam chowder. Would stay here again for sure!

Birthday party

The common areas (reception, restaurant, bar, etc) were in wonderful condition. Well kept and tidy. Once you got to the room though, it was like a Motel 6. Run down, crooked walls, tiny sink, dull, few amenities, did not match the common areas at all. The bar didn’t open until 4-4:20. For a major hotel, that is ridiculous. We had several time periods where we were between events and wanted to have a glass of wine in the bar but it wasn’t open.

Check in staff was go nice and helpful. But throughout the stay staff seemed to not be hold the same status. We went to the restaurant to ask about breakfast the server we spoke to was very rude, and condescending

A beautiful hotel. Prompt service on a problem with a toilet. We were here for a conference with breakfasts at the hotel and a plated dinner. The dinner was poor. The breakfasts average.
