The best thing about this resort is the Staff, the staff is so welcoming accommodating and just amazing this is my 5th time coming to this resort and bringing not only my own family but also friends and we have all love the food experience in the resort! I have to say the resort is not fancy, is comfortable clean easy to walk around because it’s not huge, and is very typical Dominican culture vibe!! We love it and can’t wait to go back!! If the owners of this resort read this, please thank your wonderful staff from the ladies who clean our rooms to the bartenders the waiters and the amazing DJ at the club!!

Staff members were phenomenal in the Buffet Dining Area. Especially, a waitress named Leidy. She was super friendly, professional, and highly efficient. The bell boys were also very helpful and accommodating. The only complaint I have is the inability to make a reservation in one of the restaurants, which were not accessible during our three day stay. They were supposedly booked the very day we arrived and the day after.

To the Expedia Team, I am writing to share my experience during my recent stay at Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada – All Inclusive in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, from July 24 to July 28, 2025 (Itinerary: 73140043439664). Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I have ever had. From day one, there were clear issues with cleanliness and maintenance throughout the resort: • During breakfast at El Mercado, multiple guests — myself included — found hair in the pancakes and toast. The cook simply removed the items in front of everyone without any apology. • I also found a live cockroach among the supposedly clean dishes, which poses a serious health risk. • Most concerning of all, there were cockroaches in the room itself, which I recorded on video. • The decorative fountain at the main entrance was dirty and neglected. • Overall, the resort appeared old, worn down, and poorly maintained. As for the service, it was equally disappointing: • I had to call four times before they finally brought an extra bed for my sister. • While asking for a spoon during a beachside activity, one of the staff members rudely replied, “find it yourself.” • The general attitude of the staff was unprofessional, disinterested, and lacked basic customer service standards. In addition, the resort allows local visitors to bring loud speakers, creating a chaotic and noisy environment — far from the peaceful, relaxing experience I was expecting.

I liked most of the staff especially the concierge Lucy. I did not like that they put me in the old section of the resort with many things not working. After I complained as soon as I saw the room in the afternoon. They said that they would move me the next day. I had to stay the first night in a terrible room. The next day They gave me a room on a newer section as I had paid for a premium room in the first place. I had to move my own luggage. Not satisfied with this treatment. could have done better. I have stayed at many Iberostar resorts and have had fine treatment and nice rooms.

We stayed for 3 nights and had an amazing experience. The staff was honestly my favorite part about the whole experience. The nicest people I’ve ever met honestly. Nightly entertainment 10/10, with the shows and live music and then the disco after. We made reservations for the Japanese restaurant and it was very nice too. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the drinks, they were kinda watered down and needed more alcohol. But other than that 10/10 experience. I’ll definitely be back

My experience was a little disappointed!! The staff is super friendly and helpful, They all got a 10/10 The food choices at the buffet area were poor and repetitive, almost seem like recycled. 3/10 The Japanese restaurant is a must. Super entertaining and delicious. 10/10 The Italian restaurant was good but waiting time was excessive. 7/10 The rooms are old and cleanness specially the balcony. 4/10 The cocktails option at the bars has a poor selection. 4/10 I choose this hotel because was highly recommended by a group that was there in October, 2 years ago, but seems like quality goes down during the summer in most places, maybe because the kids are out school and they do a lot of waist, I will think that is the reason, I never travel in summer, so my experience was terrible. Hopefully they don’t continue going so down like that because everyone paid for what the offer, not what they found there. In Puerto Plata is hard to find good hotels. Really bad amenities, food and services. Front desk staff is horrible. Did not want to honor my reservation. I was waiting until 5pm to get a room that was full of roaches brought this up to guest relations didn’t do anything about it. Cleaning lady was mopping hallways and didn’t even place wet floors signs my wife slipped and fell

We had roaches in our room. The HVAC kept going off and on, making our room very muggy. Everything in the room is dated except for the tv. The TV didnt have any channels for entertainment. No elevators. The bed was old and uncomfortable.

once reaching my roo.key card didnt work..had to be reset at desk..on the first floor so i needed a SECURE balcony door.wouldnt lock..was told i could use front door til someone came for repairs..explained i couldnt leave my room unsecured.eventually the whole door lock and fixture replaced..front desk and im assuming a manager..manuel HORRIBLE customer service. not a profession they should be in. Henry was WONDERFUL. i needed to print my boarding pass and he was more than KIND and HELPFUL to assist me. to many CHILDREN at the swim up bar sitting on the stool drinking water or playing. adults PAID and TIP for that service..children should NOT be allowed in any bar area or in the jacuzzi with rafts and big blow up pool toys..culture night was WONDERFUL...there were activities through out the day and the shows at night were GREAT..would probably return ;-)
