Chezisabelle needs to let people know about the cheese cart when you first sit down. Room refrigerator leaks water, ac leaks water in front of sink, ac blower fan is noisy, closet light keeps turning out (motion light) if your standing in there for few minutes Alcohol in bottle is not what’s on the bottle label. Restaurants need to show what’s open by date not just that day. Martini bartenders not very friendly. It’s like you’re bothering them when you ask for a drink. Overall stay at el Carmen not what was expected for excellence. Excellence Punta Cana was much better

The resort was beautiful and the private pool was amazing! The staff, food and service were incredible, however if you are prone to mosquito bites as I am, please bring good mosquito repellent as I was bit nightly throughout my stay even with using the OFF spray purchased at the gift store. This is actually the 1st resort I’ve encountered mosquitos. It appears it’s been a long standing issue at this resort.

Large clean room. Friendly attentive staff. Well kept older facility. Nice pools. Terrible food with a couple exceptions. Low quality and often burned or refried. Still a decent vacation overall.

I genuinely had no complaints about this resort. Would recommend if you’re looking for a luxurious relaxing vacation. I suggest getting the excellence club package during your stay because you’ll have access to amenities and restaurants that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to enjoy. Staff were super friendly, room was clean, would definitely come again.

The room was not very clean, the whole bathroom area is in need of renovation, and was not cleaned the whol 5 days we were there.The quality of the food was not good, few times we had to replace a dish because we recive food we did not order, or the menu did not match the dish. Communication with staff was very hard as most do not speak English.

The rooms were beautiful, the ground was beautiful, didn't like having to use your phone for everything, no print as anywhere you have to go to a website and see a map and if you are not to phone savvy you are in big trouble, no menus, staff and Waters don't speak English, so un less you can speak there language, it's really hard to communicate, food was really bad, lots of restaurants but not always open, Buffett only open for breakfast, then only one or two a night, Beach was really bad not attending, I know it's hard to predict the weather but, not a pretty beach area at all, pools were packed and very small. No entertainment, the show's don't start until 9:30, way to late and too loud, almost painful 😖, so no we didn't enjoy our vacation at all, will research more next time, we was really not comfortable there at all. Not for older people, no help at the front desk, they would not tell us anything about what was happening, just say you have to use the website, we felt like we were in a Steven King movie 🎥 or a dream and could not wake up.the worst experience we ever had.

We had a swim-up room and theomemt we walled in the room smelled like moisture humidity- wet. The bed sheets felt moist allthe time even after changes. The food was horroble nothing authentic as i am a native. They do not cater to Dominicans at all not even in the entertainment area. Unfortunately will never ever recommend this hotel. Staff were very nice because of them we had a good time ans was able to get some ok food one day i payed for a fish. Overall 0-1 for the amount of money we spent os very sad to rate this way.

We really enjoyed our stay. We celebrated my wife’s 55th birthday there. Our favorite staff members were Stivenson, who we first met at Spice(Interactive Entertainment Hiabachi) and at The Kitchen Table. He’s so attentive and basically knew what we wanted when we got there. He would have a special table for us and our beverage would be coming up as soon as we sat down. Robinson was a good waiter too there. Yari was our entertainment and beach/pool staff. She’s so friendly and so welcoming to us all the time. This was a great time for us. My wife said this was the best birthday so far. We enjoyed The Grill for dinner, Sports Bar was good too, Los Olas was good for beach and pool time. The drinks were the bomb. Our overall experience there was a 10/10. We recommend people to be looking for Stivenson &his bubbly personality. The towel art in the room was really cute. The room service was good, too. No real complaints. And the drinks were great!!!
