Upgraded to honeymoon Suite. Would have preferred room requested as pool was what was most important. door to roof would not latch closed so ac kept shutting off. had to ask for room to be cleaned on 2 seperate days. They upgraded our room but did not change room # in systems so had problems everytime we asked to charge to room. woman at customer relations rude and unhelpful on multiple ocassions. Buffet only open for breakfast leaving very few options daily for lunch options.

Went here for our one year wedding anniversary trip. Expected your typical all inclusive stay, got way more. Typically you don’t go to an all inclusive and expect a culinary experience. The food at the restaurants we went to was amazing. Magna (excellence club only)..the 45oz tomahawk steak.. amazing! at Spice the Sushi! And sashimi. And the food at Agave was amazing. We loved the coffee shop went every night for coffee and a sweet treat. The breakfast buffet was great. Service was wonderful, they cater to you and are so friendly. You can even tell management was involved with interacting with guests. Our room was amazing too we have the two story plunge pool room. We want to go back already and would definitely recommend. One of our favorite trips & it was during hurricane Melissa, the weather wasn’t the best and we still had the best time!!! Also the entertainment!!! Karaoke night, tribute night, they even had acrobatics! It was so much fun!

Property was nice. Room was okay, somewhat worn down. The problem was, they do not cut guests off when they had too much alcohol. Bad behavior from guests was ignored. I felt unsafe.

This was one of the most disappointing resort experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, it was problem after problem. The anniversary package we were promised was missing. The first room’s shower flooded, and the hot tub was filthy, releasing black and brown debris from the jets every time it was turned on. After three service calls and no results, we were moved to another room—only to find the same issues plus a TV that barely worked. Things got even worse when my brother found hair in his food and my mother found a piece of metal in hers. When she told the restaurant manager, his response was that “metal in the food was out of his control.” Instead of addressing the issue, staff made us feel interrogated and humiliated, especially Nikki and Jeffrey, who treated us like we didn’t belong after we raised legitimate safety concerns. Only one employee, Melvin, showed genuine professionalism and tried to make things right. Everyone else was dismissive, defensive, or outright rude. My entire family works in hospitality, so we know the difference between a minor inconvenience and a total failure in service, cleanliness, and guest care. Unfortunately, Excellence El Carmen completely missed the mark on all three. This trip was supposed to be a special anniversary getaway, but it turned into a stressful and embarrassing experience. We no longer felt safe eating at the resort. Management should be ashamed that a five-star property operates this way.

The room was exceptionally clean and beautiful. The staff that we encountered were courteous and helpful. We were particularly appreciative of the assistance and kindness of Luciley (sp) she was amazing! Some of the restaurants food options weren't that tasty but acceptable for all inclusive. Don’t expect 5 star dining but ample options. We did find a conflict with the restaurant times and days being switched without notice which caused us to not be able to experience one of the restaurants. If we return, we would definitely include the Excellence package again because of the upgraded dining and premium liquor options.

We were a group of 8 and Marleny made sute we had reservations for dinner every night at the time and restaurant of our choice. She would comr and find us every night to adk where and when we wanted to dine the next night. We had a great time.

There were so many mosquitoes at in our private pool that we could not even spend our time outside like we wanted. We spend 100% of our time when we're not sleeping or eating in our own private pool and we couldn't even enjoy it.
