Rooms were well maintained, cleaned daily and fridge was always fully stocked. The pools were fantastic; there was always a place to sit. The Beach was beautiful, but you have to get there early to secure a chair. The food was amazing. Breakfast not so much, but lunch and dinner were really good. We had no problems navigating the resort and there are little shuttles to shuttle you around if needed. I would recommend. I would go back.

I visited Occidental just recently and check in and everything was great. The poolside games were fun and staff was phenomenal. However, cleaning and food was more on the 3 star side. Upon arrival, the room was clean but it still had some dust particles not fully clean and it was like some was left after cleaning. The first couple of days they only had big towels and only one body towel. No towel to put on the floor and wash with.

The food was great, wish it was a little bit more domenican cuisine. Besides mangu I did not see anything else that was domenican. The staff are all amazing and fun, they will make sure you have the time of your life. The best part was the oven pizza you can have at night time...

Room was adequate, staff service was terrible. It took staff 2 days and after several requests to replace batteries in TV remote, we asked several times over 4 days for hand towels and wash cloths. Our phone handset never worked and they never tried to replace it.One afternoon We came back to the room and there were no towels for our shower, we had to go to the front desk to get towels delivered We set up a birthday celebration for my granddaughter to include ballon’s and cake. When it wasn’t done we checked the next morning and the told us it wasn’t there because we were 1 hour late which was an outright lie, Reservations were for 7:00 PM and we were there exactly on time. Staff attitude was not helpful. Food and pool activities were good but music was too loud in main pool

Beautiful ocean view Suite with jacuzzi tub on our balcony. It was amazing! Excellent service from all staff, maids, bartenders and waiters and waitresses. Our concierge Esteban was outstanding and so on top of the details that made our stay magical. Esteban covered everything from al-a-carte restaurant reservations to our entrance tour to bell hop booking for pickup at exit. Esteban stood out and I would hire him for my own business. He was in daily contact and was so polite and knowledgeable. Thank you Esteban and Occidental Punta cana for a wonderful stay.

This was a lower price than what I usually pay but thought I would try a cheaper resort from the one I stayed at in August. The rooms were spacious, I think the food was actually better than the higher priced resort from August. The air worked really well in all the restaurant's, nice pools and beach area. All together, we were pleased. So what do you give up at a cheaper resort? 1. No umbrella's on the beach. (may not seem like a big deal until you would like to have one) 2. No waitress's on the beach. I guess that saves the resort money as if you have to get up, you are less likely to drink as much. Again, not a big deal until you want it. 3. The biggest one for us. They do not have snacks. Sometimes you just want a snack and there are none. The other resort walked around with carts of snacks. Again, not a big deal until you get an afternoon craving. 4. Room service was very slow but they could have been busy so no big deal. 5. The worst thing that happened, my wife was blow drying here hair and stepped on the cord and it literally shocked her making her lose her balance falling and hitting her head on the wall. Someone had repaired the cord but did a very poor job of it leaving a wire exposed. It took 2 phone calls and 2 visits consisting of 2 days to get this fixed. It could happen anywhere so just beware. While I would have enjoyed the first three things, it is not a deal breaker for me. If I go back, I know to take snacks. Steavens Gourgue was great and helped so much

When it came time for me to leave I had to order myself a taxi because yall couldn’t take care of a simple reservation. I will never use Expedia again due to that. Shuttle service was included and I had to pay extra just to get to the airport

The resort itself is large, clean, and generally well-maintained. Our room was okay, nothing special but fine for the stay. However, a few things left us feeling uncomfortable. 1. Restaurant Reservations Felt Forced When we arrived, our restaurant reservations were already assigned to our room as if it were a done deal: “You will go to Italian, Mexican, and Seafood.” The problem? We didn’t want those—our preferences were Steakhouse and Asian. I understand that the resort has many guests to manage, but the way this was presented felt forced. We had to push back a bit to get the restaurants we actually wanted. 2. Everything Was Only in Spanish It seems the resort is extremely popular with South American guests—probably around 95% of the people there. Because of that, almost everything was in Spanish. We constantly felt like we didn’t fit in, which made the stay less enjoyable. 3. Repeated Ignoring by Some Waitstaff This part was the most disappointing. Several times we felt ignored by waiters, likely for the same reason—as non-Spanish speakers. I don’t believe anyone working in tourism doesn’t understand a simple request like “Please, no ice.” We also had evenings where my wife ordered wine and never received it, even while we watched the waiter serving other guests (Spanish-speaking ones). This happened multiple times, so it wasn’t just an accident. Overall The resort isn’t bad, and the food is on par with what many places offer in the post-COVID era (meaning more limited

The location is beautiful and the room clean and comfortable. Dinners were delicious. The challenges we had were: 1. The breakfast and lunch buffets did not taste good and the variety of food available did not really fit the meal 2. There is loud music everywhere and it is often on repeat and feels like they are trying to create a club atmosphere so it wasn't relaxing unless you found a corner far from activities at the beach 3. There are not good activities for tweens and teens 4. It is missing a sports bar or place for those who don't want loud repetitive dance or house music to hang out in the evening

Good hotel with a very nice pool area and direct access to the beach. The buffet food was regular but acceptable. The food at the reserved restaurants was a bit better than the buffet but nothing great. Entertainment was very good with many options.

The staff was rude and the food was awful. We asked several times for an extra blanket in our room. It never came. We asked for the fuse to be fixed as we could not use the hairdryer or one of the only 3 outlets in the room. This was not fixed either. Very disappointing. We will not return nor recommend this resort.
