This was a really hard review to make. The hotel itself is really nice. Grounds are well kept, food is really good, the kids waterpark was awesome, beach was great. I had to lower the stars only because of the room itself. The room was falling apart. Toilet didnt flush properly, toilet paper roll falling off the wall, pull out bunkbed mattress super uncomfortable, shower sprayed everywhere, we were never giving enough towels for the people in our room, and I could go on. The room is a 1 out of 5 star but once you leave the room, the resort is almost 5 out of 5. The only other slight negative was very few employees spoke english so it was hard when you had a question and it was hard to get a beach chairs because people reserved them all before 7am.

I usually do not do reviews. BUT Tropical Princess you were amazing. 10/10. From check in to check out. everyone was VERY accommodating. Bralin at the restaurants YOU were everything! hospitality 10/10. Perfect hotel for families. The hotel is right on the beach, theres many pools, sports bar with mini arcade on the 2nd floor. ALL the bartenders at the bar are fast and efficient. The rooms are very spacious. My phone fell in the beach water, and they gave me uncooked rice to put my phone in. The staff here are amazing. They recommend and call you safe taxi drivers as well. I can't wait to take my family back here.

Overall I was disappointed with the property for several reasons. The first - they do not offer a shuttle service. I was told they did and when we were flying out attempting to book I was told they do not. They couldn’t get their machine to work to take our card - we had to try x3 cards and wait an hour to try again. The room balcony did not lock - even after we had some come fix it. It rained and the drain on the balcony was clogged so we had standing water on our balcony during our entire stay. The adult rolm had no way to open the window and air the room out so we had a stagnant wet musty smelling room during our stay. The inclusive adult beverages were okay - slushes with alcohol. They don’t allow people in the pools after 7pm - which is hard when you have teenagers. You have to make food reservations for restaurants via the app but most are book day of and even the next day. The amount of food you get at some of the restaurants wasn’t enough and my kids ended up going to the buffet after the restaurant to get decent portions. We booked an excursion through the seapro at the resort and it was an awful experience that was over an hour late in picking us up and didn’t provide enough snorkels for my family and didn’t do half the things the trip said would be done. I was able to talk with the Seapro desk and get a $100 dollar refund from our $300 excursion. Lastly, the resort was expensive - to get anti-itch cream and aloe lotion cost us $75 US dollars!

Check in was a breeze! The desk staff were great. The grounds of the hotel were well maintained. Unfortunately the smell at times was really bad. And it was never in the same location. The path from the lobby to the guest rooms/main areas is beautiful! Birds, turtles, fish and iguanans along with all the gorgeous plants. Its a marshy area so it had an unpleasant odor as well. The family room was spacious.The showers were always hot. The linens were terrible! The beach is gorgeous and clean!The sand all the way out to the water was so soft! There were plenty of umbrellas for shade.The pools were very nice and clean. The majority of the staff were friendly. We have stayed at many all inclusives all over the Caribbean and Mexico and this was probably the most difficult place for communication. There are salesman trying to sell vacation packages. One in particular was very pushy and actually rude when we told him we werent interested. His name was Joan. The food was below average. The Brazilian restaurant was the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. Theres no explanation of what to expect. You sit and wait. We had to ask for food several times, even though the tables around us were served, and we were in the middle of the room! And the food was bad! The meat was dry and overcooked. We actually left mid meal!Poor cuts/quality of meat throughout the resort. There were plently of fresh fruits and veggies. Some of the dishes in the buffet were ok but nothing was great.

This resort was very impressive, they have koi ponds with turtles and other fish at the entrance of the resorts check in area. Peacocks, iguana, flamingos, duck and a variety of other birds live on the resort. The rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was amazing, the food was good. I would recommend to upgrade to the platinum package. I had an amazing time and this was my first solo trip

Overall a good experience for my family vacation including a 5 year old. Grounds were well kept and staff were generally friendly and helpful. It makes a difference when you tip at bars and restaurants especially the first day. You can be ignored at swim up bar or buffet if you are new and bartender don’t know whether you tip or not. The buffet was satisfactory compared to other resorts we stayed in Mexico and Jamaica. Lots of options including vegetarian dishes and meats. The cafe and ice cream shops are excellent. It was a good experience but there are other better options.
