Parking was easy and secure. There was no bar but not problem for us. When I booked, the confirmation informed me that a continental breakfast was included, however upon arriving I was told breakfast was £7.95 each, but I am not complaining because the prices were all reasonable.
Would not recommend!
This hotel would have been spectacular a few years ago, but is now very rundown and in need of major tlc. The grounds are unkempt and full of rubbish.
The room itself was OK, but very dated.
I walked my friend back to her room upstairs, around midnight on the night of 29th Nov and the front doors were wide open with nobody on reception. A room key had been left in an envelope on the desk with the guest name and personal details, and instructions on how to find their room. Not very professional in my view.
At the time of booking (12th Nov) a continental breakfast was included in the room fee, we have the confirmation and receipt stating this. However when we arrived the following morning for breakfast we were told that this had changed the previous week and we would have to pay extra for breakfast. We showed the staff our booking confirmation, which clearly stated that breakfast was included and asked to speak to a manager. The staff on reception apparently messaged a manager, to be told that it doesn't apply anymore and we would need to pay.
We therefore left and found breakfast elsewhere for much better value.
I contacted the hotel stating that according to our booking a breakfast was included and this should have been honoured. I was told the same, the rules had changed and breakfast was now extra.
They did not seem bothered that they had broken the terms of our booking.
We feel that the owners are happy allowing this place to run into the ground

Yes, room and bathroom were all clean, but there was no room housekeeping provided (a bit odd!), but was available on request. But mine was not done despite that, the excuse being that I had not left them my key! Surely they would have a spare room key!! Hotel generally a bity chilly, but there was an electric heater in room the controls of which were difficult to master Cooked breakfast very good, all freshly cooked and not from a stewed buffet! But no evening meals available!
The Room was a great size. Only complaint is that the ‘King Size Bed’ was two singles pushed together which annoyingly separated through the night. It is definitely worth upgrading to Full English Breakfast for just £5, it was lovely. It is advertised that the Bar and Restaurant is open 5:30-8:30. This isn’t true. It was closed the whole weekend which was disappointing.
No one at reception for check in, took twenty minutes to find someone, dirty rooms, wallpaper hanging off the ceiling, no hot water and “continental breakfast” and not had toast available.
Such a shame as lovely building, quiet setting but very tired and staff obviously don’t want to be there
A good well fitted room, with ample parking and a continental breakfast included. Friendly staff.

Poor nights sleep
In fairness this was just a 1 night stay but this is a very basic hotel in its current state. The reception is quite welcoming as an old Manor House style building. However the facilities in the bedroom are basic and a bit grubby. Our main issue was the comfort of the bed. It was so hard, like sleeping on a board, we didn’t sleep well at all. We opted for the inclusive continental breakfast with was acceptable but again very basic. Cutlery was rather dirty/water stained like it had just come out of the dishwasher. Nobody on reception when we left to highlight our observations even though this was at around 10 am. Wouldn’t stay here again. Quite cheap but needs attention in a number of areas.
I was staying for a weekend whilst playing in a sport tournament and the receptionist was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to help me and other team mates staying at the hotel.
I was in the bridal suite which was a pleasant surprise as we then used this as a team base.
Breakfast was nice, the continental included was a bit basic and could have done with a fruit bowl.
The cooked breakfast was lovely and well worth the extra £5 when we got it.
It’s an older building and decorated in keeping with the period which is lovely of high ceilings and ornate coving. There were a few spider webs and spiders in corners and window frames but it is the time of year for them as well.
We didn’t manage to try the restaurant as we’re back at the hotel too late after match days.
The hotel was quiet and would be lovely for older visitors, as we weren’t loud at all, but we didn’t fit in still.
