The Mayton Hotel is cute and I would have probably rated it higher if the parking situation was not So Poor. When traveling with a vehicle you cannot ignore the fact that after a long day you CANNOT park anywhere near the hotel.
Also, I was quite put out when my wife requested no Maid service the second day, we stayed at The Mayton, I asked the front desk for 2 bottles of small water and was promptly told no maid service no water. I thought this must be a southern thing except when we Stayed on Campus at Clemson and asked for bottles of water with no maid service the person behind the desk said I will go get you some how many do you need. Big bottles with The Hotels name on them. I said we could wait for the maid to come up. We were given 3 bottles of water and led to believe if we needed more it would not be a problem. Parked our rental 10-20 steps from the front door!
Wonderful - great room, friendly staff, great food, great walkable location. Would recommend and stay again!

Front desk couldn’t be more helpful.
Halls could get noisy with multiple wedding parties.
Rooms were spacious, comfortable and very clean.
