The rooms weren't much to speak of; bare walls except for a single painting. There was no lamp on the nightstand next to the bed; the closest was an oddly-placed floor lamp. The rooms are definitely dated (possibly by design as this is a historic hotel) but the public restroom-style toilet was a bit of an odd choice. There's a strange cutout at the bottom of the bathroom door which we came to assume was to allow air flow, but it felt like someone was going to slide in a prison meal. When I turned on the bath faucet to let the water warm up on my first night of three (note - warm, not hot, just warm, even when turned all the way up), the tub filled up with later of water populated by a ton of black specks. I think these were shaving artifacts from someone who shaved in the shower previously. I used the hotel's text line to complain about the water temp and the dirty shower drain, and although they said they would send up an engineer, I saw no evidence of that nor was I contacted again about it for the next two nights. For me the bed was not terribly comfortable as it was moderately firm, but they did include about seven pillows which helped. On the positive side, the staff was friendly, and the historic restaurant and lobby are beautiful. The TV in the room was a new smart TV with options to allow HDMI connection (often disallowed in many hotels), which was refreshing. This hotel is extremely convenient to the convention center, which is a mere block away.

We were given the wrong room number at check-in. Went all the way up to the 18th floor only to realize that our keys didn’t work and had to all the way back down to get it fixed. Also was not told that room service wasn’t available so we didn’t get to eat until super late.

When I arrived at the hotel to check in, they told me the room was no longer available. They then asked me to sit in the lobby and they would come talk to me, after waiting 45 minutes someone finally came to talk to me. They again said the room was not available and then offered me a worse room at the same price. So, I left the hotel.
