I didn't like the smell of sewer in my room at times. I hated that the maid stole my son's money and when we had dinner in their restaurant they couldn' t find change for us and suggested we go in the streets to find change knowing we don' t speak Portuguese!

🇺🇸 As an American visiting Brazil, I felt very safe and welcomed. Everyone was super nice, helpful, and friendly. The nightlife here is 🔥 busy — especially since you’re right in the city center. If you’re hoping for a quiet, relaxing night, just know this area stays active late 🌃. 📍 You’re walking distance to popular spots like the Arches of Lapa and the Selarón Steps 🎨, which is perfect for sightseeing. Breakfast 🍽️ in the mornings is nice, though it can get a little repetitive if you’re staying for a while. The staff was always accommodating and kind 🙌. 🛏️ The room itself was nice and comfortable, but the bathroom 🚽 felt a little dated — the toilet showed some yellowing and could use an upgrade. There were snacks 🍫 and drinks in the room, but they’re pricey 💸. It’s better to grab the same things at a local supermarket 🛒 for way cheaper. 🏊‍♂️ I wish the pool and gym 🏋️‍♀️ stayed open 24 hours (they close at 10 PM ⏰). But with Brazil’s famous beaches 🏖️ like Flamengo, Copacabana, Ipanema, and more nearby, you’ll have plenty of options to enjoy during the day 🌞. Overall, it’s a fun and convenient spot if you want to be in the heart ❤️ of the action and experience Rio’s nightlife, culture, and energy ✨.

Our stay (my husband and I ) was average. The staff was lukewarm at best and the food (breakfast) wasn’t great in my opinion. There was some noise from the street but it wasn’t unbearable, and if we were in the bedroom we couldn’t hear anything at all. My biggest gripe was the parking. There is no staff member readily available to open the garage door, so most often you have to go and find someone on staff to open the gate with the remote. The garage is one way in and one way out, so it’s possible to have someone trying to come into the parking garage as you’re trying to come out which can easily result in a collision. I wasn’t expecting spectacular, but I was hoping for a little better.

Good hotel with yummy breakfast

It was a nice hotel with friendly staff and good breakfast. Just requires a little maintenance in the shower/bathroom area as the shower cube was leaking water into the bathroom and also the sinks were clogged.

This is a good location particularly if you're in Rio for United States visa interviews. The staff helped me a lot to get last minute documents printed, which I really needed and appreciated. However, the hotel needs updates to the infrastructure. We had air conditioning and toilet flushing problems in our room. Also, the parking system is a bit of a headache. But overall for our specific situation, the hotel met our needs.

The bed was very old and very uncomfortable. The pillow cases had stains. And the bed didn’t have a fitted sheet on them. It was covered by a flat sheet which kept slipping off. In addition I kept itching when I laid down which had me mentally screwed because all I could think of was bed bugs. And yes I had bites but I’m hoping they were mosquitoes bites. The cheap towels was so horrible I was only able to use them once. One day instead of the housekeeper switching my towels, she hung it at the window for me to reuse smh!
