The location is perfect, 10 min from train station, Ottaviano, 6-8 min from St Peters Basilica and St Angelo’s and lots of food choices to eat.Bus stop 81 is also 3-5 min walk. The reception are friendly, the room is roomy( family of 4) and the aircon is fab. The breakfast buffet is ok but the same daily and theres no hot breakfast which is normal in Europe I think. We stayed for 5 nights and the only downside is you pay additional for the tax when you arrive which costs us another 115 euro. We found Jollibee which is good for chickenjoy only 6-8 min walk from the hotel. We booked a return journey through SIT bus to and from Fuimicino airport which is around £6 and is about 15 min walk from the hotel. The area was safe and we even stayed during Young Adults Jubillee week.

We had a great stay, thanks to the wonderful customer service and warm hospitality, especially from Monica, our host, she was truly welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but we chose it for the excellent location, and it definitely delivered. It’s in one of the best areas for tourists, with easy access to major sites and public transportation. The breakfast, included in the stay, was simple but satisfying, and available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, which was very convenient for our schedule. Overall, a pleasant stay, if the hotel updates some of the interiors, it would be even better!

The biggest strength of this property were the Reception staff - Monica and Marta - who were both always helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. The hotel is excellently located for the Vatican City and St. Peter's and within 500 metres of Ottiviano Metro Station. The area around the hotel is relatively quiet and within 200 metres of good bars/ restaurants. The hotel itself is clean and well kept although the facilities in my room lacked being able to make a drink for yourself or somewhere to sit. I would stay at the Grand Olympic again - its strengths far outweigh a few minor improvements.

It is the worsts place I have ever visited mold everywhere, the bathroom is extremely filthy ,a horrible stench ,too dirty. I don’t know how they offer a place like this, they turn off the hot water at night, and the conditions are precarious. My children were scared. The only reason I give one star is that there is no option for zero .. I have always trusted you it’s a shame that you are offering places like this. I have proof, I know everything I’m saying…. Anymore

Convenient and Welcome if Rough Around the Edges

Nice room for a solo visitor, a bed big enough for two although the mattress was rock hard. Only one usable plug socket which was crumbling off the wall. The shower only ever warmed up to lukewarm at best, but the bathroom was lovely. Great air conditioning unit and plenty of space, very conveniently located right near the Vatican. One downside is that there was construction work being done right beneath me. I’m sure no one else would have noticed but I’d taken ill whilst there and needed to come back to nap in the afternoon and couldn’t do so due to the construction noise. A little warning about this would have been appreciated. The staff, however, were lovely, especially Marta who checked me in and gave a wonderful explanation of the city. I’d stay here again.

The window was blocked and shades closed - unable to open. Conditioner was leaking condensation on a last night - this I reported to staff. Too cold in a room at times, hard to control with remote. Water temp in a shower was not always of proper temp for late evening or early mornings. Cleaning staff entered room while I was in a room. For breakfast - coffee machine in a first room was not giving coffee according to choice. Transport access - great, bed is comfortable.

We stayed for three nights, but the air conditioning was inconsistent—either too cold or not functioning at all. The hotel itself is quite old and not very clean. Additionally, it is not accessible for individuals with disabilities, as the disability lift was out of order.

No hot water. When asked, they said wait 45 min. When still no hot water, they said they didn’t know what else to do. It will take time. Faucet not bolted down. Toilet not bolted down. Tiles missing exposing electrical and plumbing fixtures.

El hotel es muy viejo. La habitación estaba sucia, en malas condiciones. Muy reducido el espacio. No limpian bien, solo tienden la cama y no lavaron el baño. El aire acondicionado funciona bien. El desayuno es muy sencillo y con pocas opciones en el bufet. Está bien ubicado, caminable, cerca del metro Ottaviano.
