The bad: This hotel is under renovations and they mention it no where at all. Was awoken at 630am by hammering above me after getting to bed at 1am. Management resolved the issue, but it seems they have little control or know about the happenings with the contractor. Set a very bad tone for my entire stay. Also, the front desk staff can be both amazing and terrible. The less experienced staff are just bad. The experienced staff are amazing. Thr guys who handled my check in and out were excellent. The rest of the time was noy great. Room service was terrible and I would not recommend. Food was good, but wrong orders and long wait times for corrections. Was told delivery would be 15-20 mins and it took 45 mins. My spouse and I ate at different times. Housekeeping is not the best. Multiple days without water (I went and bought some) someone smeared blood on our sheets at turn down and touch and go restock of the room. Taxis have an issue finding the hotel due to the construction outside. Also, not disability friendly. You have to drag your luggage up and down multiple flights of stairs and through a narrow hallway due to renovations when checking in/out. The construction on the street starts at 7am, but was not super bothersome. Does cause some navigation issues to nearby businesses.Hotel is very cold due to stone walls. Bring warmer Pjs. The good: location is great and the hotel is beautiful. Dining, bars and shopping very close. Very walkable area. Great art scene nearby.

Second stay at the Nelligan, and it will not be the last. Very comfortable hotel right in the Old Port of Montreal. Walking distance to many restaurants, shops, tourist attractions. The hotel itself is very quiet. The staff are attentive and pleasant. We have been upgraded both times we have been there to a large room with a little bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us on arrival! Looking forward to going back again next year!

Loved the Hotel Nelligan. We stayed on the 5th floor, what a view! Large room, elegant just as a vacation hotel should be. We usually don't eat at the hotel restaurants, but we did enjoy very much Mama C's Cafe and the Steak House. Service was amazing, friendly staff, excellent food, affordable prices. The only reason I gave 4 stars to staff was due to long check-in process, only 1 person working front desk, line moved slowly. Valet parking was quick, location of this hotel is perfect for walking Olde Montreal. Highly Recommend!

It was a beautiful room with a couch and sitting area, dining table , an extremely comfortable king size bed and the best pillows, great quality munchies, a bathroom with a jacuzzi, great toiletries, a fabulous extremely well regarded Greek restaurant, which served a lovely breakfast in the morning, two bars, great cocktails and wine list and amazing vip perks; the best location close to everything, shops, the old port, monuments, I was delighted with the hotel and the area.

Nice stay in Montreal!

Nice hotel. There is a lot of construction around the hotel, yet it did not hamper our stay too much. Close walk to a lot of sites. We were within walking distance to the pier to board our cruise.
