The construction in/out of that Drury was horrible. It added so much time to arriving. Also, there was either a pet making very loud noises or an autistic non-verbal child making very loud noises for hours on Saturday. It caused our daughter to not be able to go to sleep when she needed to, for an important swim meet that required her to be up at 6am. My husband actually reached out to the staff to figure out where the noises were coming from. They could hear it to, but never found the source. For these reasons, we will not be staying at this Drury La Cantera Pkwy when we have to go down to San Antonio again for swim meets.

The lobby and facilities were very nice. They have more than adequate parking. Breakfast was very good. The room, although dark without the windows open, was nice and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a well lit mirror and the shower had plenty of hot water. The shower head could deliver a stronger stream, but was adequate and it wasn't softened water which I hate. But lets face it, with the road construction and the deadened road noise, it was somewhat distracting.

The two assistant general managers, Zekayla (spelling?) - evening and Andrew - morning, were absolutely delightful to meet and converse with. No simple chit-chatting, but sincere interest in us and enjoyable conversations with them during our mealtimes. They connected with every hotel guest in the same manner. They made the overnight stay the best hotel experience of our 18-day trip. They are stars! The evening reception of "snacks and drinks" is really a full-blown meal with up to three alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, all at no charge; meatballs and gravy, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, salad, chicken tortilla soup were the menu the night we were there. Breakfast in the morning was equally sumptuous, also included in the room rate. Our room was huge, really three rooms, well-furnished, and with a very comfortable king-size bed. My wife enjoyed the indoor pool and the hot tub during the evening. If you really need to go out for a meal (we definitely did not!), there is an Applebee's right next door. Finally, the hotel has a very convenient parking garage, and no charge to use it. There is some nearby freeway construction going on right now, but our vehicle's navsystem took us right to the hotel with no problem. At about only $125.00 (incl. taxes), it was easily the best value for the money during our trip. We highly recommend this hotel.
