I have been coming to the lobby cafe for the last two years and had never had opportunity to stay until now . Check in was at 4pm, we got here at 4:15pm and room wasn’t ready until 4:45pm. We had to be somewhere at 8:30pm , we got to the lobby at 8pm and requested our car from valet and they didn’t bring it until 8:21pm . We got back after midnight since it was new years , and I woke up around 4am because I heard a ticking noise and it’s a leak coming from the ceiling . I let front desk know and they said oh after you checkout we’ll have engineer look…offered no compensation . I found someone cleaning in the hallway and had the come in so they could see . They were nice and put towels to soak it up. Nice hotel but service and accommodations are lacking.

My recent stay at The Guild Hotel in San Diego was nothing short of exceptional. I stayed here earlier this year and decided to stay here again! As part of the Tribute Portfolio, this hotel truly delivers on the brand’s promise of offering personality-rich stays with inspired design and vibrant social energy. Housed in a beautifully restored 1920s-era building, The Guild blends historic charm with modern sophistication in a way that feels both stylish and welcoming. The attention to detail in the design—from the elegant lobby and artful decor to the unique room layouts—reflects a thoughtful, curated experience that makes the hotel feel one-of-a-kind. The social spaces are equally impressive. The courtyard and restaurant offered a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, perfect for unwinding or connecting with others.
