This was my third stay at the Timbri this year, for six nights. Same great experience as the last two times. Clean room. Amazing staff. I had a few minor issues (the TV remote needed to be reset, the toilet flushing button stuck, the espresso machine not turning on) with the room and their engineer came up and fixed everything in less than 5 minutes. Love the shower. Perfect pressure and temperature. Comfortable bed and room temperature control. I slept well. I was there during the power outage and the elevators still worked. I went to a show with my friends in Berkeley and everything was back to normal when I returned. Totally under control. Did not feel unsafe for a second. See you all next time!

Extremely Disappointing: Do Not Stay Here!!! This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Despite being centrally located and reasonably priced, this hotel is not worth it. The area around the hotel is unsafe, especially behind the building. There are many homeless individuals and drug users who aggressively approach guests, ask for money, and display inappropriate or erratic behavior. I strongly advise being inside the hotel early and not going out in the evening or at night unless you want a very uncomfortable or potentially dangerous experience. The staff was unhelpful and borderline rude. I was almost overcharged for additional services I never requested. I asked to speak with a manager regarding my concerns and never received a call back. Several advertised amenities were unavailable: • The atrium was closed due to repairs • The bed had an unpleasant smell • Overall cleanliness was questionable, which is surprising given the hotel’s high ratings Although the hotel claims to have security, they were largely ineffective and disengaged, often distracted on their phones instead of monitoring the area. Another serious concern: when ordering Uber, Lyft, or Waymo, individuals loitering nearby appeared to watch guests closely, creating a strong sense of risk for theft or robbery. I never heard back from hotel management despite raising these issues. Overall, this stay caused nothing but stress and frustration. Stay away unless you want a headache.

It was raining, they don’t provide bellman or anyone to help with your luggage… had to go park the car and carry all my luggage and bags in the rain, while my things got wet.. Their electricity was down and they couldn’t give me room keys abs they charged me destination charges. Room was across a homeless shelter with people on the street, screaming and yelling all night long.. horrible service, horrible location. Horrible stat :(

We stayed here for my husbands company party at the academy of science. We mostly wanted to stay here because the rooftop restaurant/bar looks so nice and we wanted to go. My major concern was the area. You are smack dab in the middle of the tenderloin. Horrible place to be. Crackheads literally surround the blocks around the hotel. It takes about 4 blocks in ANY direction for it to clean up. The room was very basic and small. It did seem clean but did have a weird musty smell. Bed was comfortable. Parking is only valet and is 80+tax a night. One of the most expensive parking for hotels in the area. We also went up to the rooftop for breakfast at 8am. Got sat quickly but was very much ignored. Everyone around us that got sat just before AND after us were given water and got their orders in and drinks out before we even got any water given to us. We eneded up leaveing. It was also very small but the patio was way bigger. With all this being said we dont recommend this hotel. Especially if we were to bring our children this area is so bad. You can actually save money and stay in a better safer area and better quality hotel and still pay less with valet parking.
