Beautiful, but way too HOT!

Beautiful hotel, wonderful location, but oh so HOT! Heating is free in Iceland whether you want it or not. We had a poor nights sleep as it was so hot in the room! No way to adjust the heating. It was too cold outside to leave the window open, so we ended up sleeping on top of the duvet and were still roasting!

Hotel Borg, Reykjavik

A very stylish hotel, Edwardian in character but totally updated. Spacious room and very comfortable bed. Friendly staff at reception and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the City Center old town Reykjavik. The historic building is stunning, the rooms spacious & conformable with all the extra amenities you expect at very high hotels in the US. A huge brunch, heated bathroom floors & towel rack, spa, restaurant & bar. Centrally located to fine dining, all the major sites, cool shops, and clubs, highly recommend the Borg for a high-end experience in the heart or Reykjavik.

We have stayed in the Borg many times. It is a well run and well maintained facility. The usual negative is the lack of porter service, but we were helped this time by the General Manager. It would be better if there was a specific porter generally available. The bathrooms are beginning to show signs of wear and could do with a modest renovation.

Unfortunately we've had quite bad experience with this hotel: - no parking options (in spite of Expedia posting information that there is parking for fee) - hotel didn't send beforehand any parking information or other recommendations, parking details can be found only when you checked-in in the brochure which you can get ONLY when scanning QR code in the lift - staff at check-in was rude saying that we should have explore parking options beforehand by ourselves and for my answer that it shouldn't be the case, I've got answer "Whatever' - spa for a fee(!) 2500 isk per room, even simple entry for some basic gym and when I wanted to try it at 9:30am (spa working hours are 9-21) - it was closed and there was nobody there - we've got dining discount coupon which wasn't accepted at the restaurant - room was ok, nothing special, just clean, but windows were in front of several bars/restaurants which were quite noisy at night. In general, wouldn't recommend this place, there are better options in the same area.

The Hotel Borg in Reykjavik is an excellent choice for a stay. It is centrally located, directly on the central square, and close to all the town's facilities. The staff is excellent, familiar with the rush of cruise line passengers, used to juggling visitors multiple schedules and able to provide all we tourists need, especially good transportation. The hotel has all the needed amenities and we recommend it highly.

Lovely Hotel near Bars and Restaurants

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are professional and friendly. It is right across the street from a courtyard which is adjacent to many restaurants and bars. Unfortunately, one night of our stay, one of the bars was having a very loud open air party. it was so loud that our 5th floor room was vibrating. The party did end at midnight. The hotel has a lovely spa area with an indoor pool, steam room and sauna.

The Borg Hotel was such a treat! The staff, rooms, decor, breakfast, gym, and spas were lovely. I stayed in 4 different hotels in Iceland and this was by far my favourite (and with the best breakfast bar and most helpful staff)! Areas of improvement would include noise proofing in future renovations; otherwise, I only have good comments.
