We have stayed at and enjoyed this hotel numerous times over the last few years. This was the first stay with multiple concerns. Experienced two Elevator malfunctions, had to request hangers for closet and a trash can twice before they arrived. Had to request body wash for shower 3 times. Sink in bathroom was backed up and had to be unstopped. Keycard to room failed and had to have battery replaced by maintenance. Mattress was horribly stained. Coffee? Pee? Another body fluid? All this in room 221. I will likely look elsewhere for next trip to KC.

Long wait to check in. Later in the evening the elevator wasn’t working. Little or no direction from staff. Water in room was only luke warm, not hot. We will not stay here again. This is the second time we’ve had issues with this hotel. We really wanted to like it…great location; good bar…but we will not be back.

Very clean room. The room was spacious and comfortable. I do think we had a handicap accessable bathroom, without requesting one. It was very nice but no where to store accessories. I would be interested in seeing a regular king bathroom.

Had to switch rooms three times. First room smelled like a sewer. We prepaid for a jr suite and no others were available so we were forced h to a downgrade. Second room had a giant brown stain on the mattress. Third try was the charm. All of the rooms feel tired. Every piece of trim in the rooms needs a coat of paint. Carpets look tired. If not for the rooftop igloos, I don’t really see a reason to return.

This hotel looks so nice, but the main reason for one's stay at a hotel is to sleep and the whole sleeping area needs a major overhaul. First and foremost, the bed is like sleeping on cardboard. I literally could barely walk after getting out of bed in the morning. Every bone in my body hurt. The worst of all was the pillows. Why on earth are they using very flat, awful, smelly down pillows? Why not hypoallergenic down alternative pillows that are fluffier and can be washed and sanitized? I woke up with a migraine, snot literally running out of my nose, and a rash on the side of my face I was sleeping on. And they were so flat I had to sleep on three of them. Lastly, the flooring in the entryway is not extended into the sleeping area. The carpeting is dirty, ugly, and not allergy friendly. Additionally, even though our room was "refreshed" after our first night's stay, we did not get more coffee, tea, sugar, or cream refilled and were only provided enough for one morning. Same for bottled water. Stays at other comparable hotels refilled these items daily. I had such high hopes for this "luxury" hotel that is not luxury at all. This is the closest hotel to our son who lives in the KC area but we will not be staying again until upgrades are made.

The room did have a slight bad smell when we first checked in, I did happen to have my own air fresheners, so I got that under control myself. I was not happy the way our breakfast was handled, other people were getting waited on and getting their food that sat down after we got there, I don’t understand what the problem was, got handed off to another waitress while still trying to get coffee and get our food ordered, only had one place setting of silverware on the table, and no sugar on the table, after I got my coffee cups, I have to get those items off another table after the customers left, and as I looked around, others had their own coffee craft, but one was given to us, I still don’t understand why????, saw other couples get their food and get done before us, we were there an hour, I did complain to the check in desk when we checked out, was not happy with that experience, that made me not wanting to ever return , I did like the room and the shower was very nice
