I arrived at Motel 6 in South Bend from Auckland, New Zealand, at around 2:30 a.m. I presented my reservation printout and payment confirmation to the person at the reception. After checking his keys, he told me that there was no booking under my name and that no room was available for me.
It was an extremely stressful situation to face in a strange country and city at that hour. I asked him to check again and showed him the payment details once more. He insisted that I would receive a refund and that no booking existed. I requested that he check thoroughly in his drawers and boxes, and only then did he find my key card. This experience was deeply unsettling and almost gave me a heart attack.
When I finally entered the room, I found that there was no internet connection. The receptionist claimed that this was due to thunderstorm activity, but I realized this was not true. In fact, there was no internet service for the entire eight days of my stay.
Overall, this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The lack of professionalism and honesty was unacceptable, and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
