Excellent stay

Excellent facilities in the room. Very clean and comfortable. Room had a fridge, digital radio, Nespresso machine with pods and a good selection of teas, coffees and biscuits. Probably on of the best room I have stayed on to the money paid.

A good value short stay!

A very convenient place to spend a couple of nights. It seemed a little motel like, since most of the rooms were in a single block at the back of the restaurant and entry was directly into the room. The decor was perhaps a little drab, but both room and bathroom were very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable, with good quality sheets and duvets and we slept very well. There was a kettle and coffee machine, with plenty of tea and coffee, and fresh milk and water were in a small fridge. The inclusive breakfast was outstanding, especially the very generous full English. The evening meal selection was good. The chicken and steak dishes were excellent. Maybe choosing a Sunday roast was not wise in the early evening, as the beef and roast potatoes weren't at their best. All in all I would recommend Harper's Steakhouse for a short, good value stay.

Middle of winter and had to have the window’s wide open as well as a fan on constant - the room was like a sauna, (so no sleeping that night ), this wasn’t aided with the towel rail being constantly on as well as near a busy road, which with open wide windows meant noisy ( wasn’t noisy when closed ). Arrived and like most, cup of tea time. Couldn’t open the lid of the kettle due to limescale on the ridge. Managed to boil some water, however the limescale must have been in the base also as the tea was visibly undrinkable. Didn’t eat at the location due to Christmas parties and being very busy, for me this is a good sign that the food is good, so disappointing but completely understandable. The room was tastefully furnished and very modern, which was the reason for my choice. The staff on arrival were very friendly and helpful, however again due to the time of the year, very busy. Was disappointed, when leaving that I wasn’t asked how my stay went. This place could be cracking but for me, on this occasion, I came away underwhelmed.

Comfy room

Lovely clean room, although very warm.We had to turn the radiator down and open the window. Very comfortable bed.Didnt eat in the restaurant in the evening,but the cooked full english was Huge and very well presented. Plenty of choice as well.Will definitely stay again.

I have stayed in many hotels but have to say that Harper's in Southampton have nailed it. The staff are happy and efficient. The food is lovely. The rooms have the little extra touches and the bed and pillows are perfect. If I could score a 12 I would. Very pleasant stay. We will Def return and try others in the chain.
