Lovely older hotel - lotsa stairs to some of the rooms but not an issue for us. Very nice rooms, comfortable bed, great hotel staff. Great breakfast, great location close to shopping, train and bus, and ferry terminal. Great breakfast and nice restaurant overall.

Nice hotel with an excellent breakfast. Great view from the sea view room. We would have no issues about staying here again.
The overall experience at the hotel was great. However, it was let down by one particular member of staff serving breakfast. She was unhelpful, surly, and appeared ‘ inconvenienced’ when asked for simple service. She let down the professionalism and kindness of all other members of staff.
I received a free upgrade to a sea facing room. The room was clean, well laid out and fitted. Check in and out was seamless. I would definitely recommend a stay.
Great stay over the last 2 days. The Claremont fully deserves it's 4 stars. Rooms are big and have lots of small touches you don't get in a lot of hotels today. Great views and the staff were all pleasant and welcoming. It is well situated on the front in Douglas. Parking is a nightmare but this is common to Douglas and is not the fault of the Claremont. Would we stay there again absolutely.
Good location to ferry ,
Not really a fan of memory foam mattress, no support and dip in the middle otherwise stay was good .

Mediocre
Room extremely hot, no air conditioning. The rest of the hotel seemed cool but our room was uncomfortably hot for two days. No fridge or robes as was described in listing. Windows didn’t open to allow any meaningful ventilation. Breakfast was mediocre, warm juice eclectic fruit platter. Room dark with views only of walls.
Small room, very hot even with the table top fan on. Lumpy mattress and pillows and bed kept moving away from headrest. Light on all night directly outside window and ill-fitting curtains.
Breakfast staff very pleasant and accommodating. Good location on seafront.
Originally I was put in a room without a window which wasn’t great - the staff were helpful but I had to double up costs to get a sea view when the hotel wasn’t busy. I thought they could have been a bit more flexible on this
The hotel was lovely, staff were all very friendly especially the cleaning staff, the room was immaculate as was the rest of the hotel.
We booked a sea view room for the weekend from the pictures online thinking we would have seats looking out to the sea however the room simply had a high window, we could see the sea from it though! This was the only real downfall.
The breakfast was lovely. The lounge area was beautiful. The room was a bit small for the price but had everything we needed however the bathroom was huge and the shower was THE BEST!
The Claremont is in a perfect location on the seaside in central Douglas. Stores and restaurants are within easy walking distance. Staff are friendly and efficient. Dinner as well as breakfast the next morning were wonderful. Room had a tub AND a walk-in shower!
