A lovely setting, nice building and excellent parking. Bathroom a bit worn/grubby in areas and sink had a large crack. Service, cleaning and food very good. No cooling in rooms and the duvet appeared to be a very heavy winter tog. Also the breakfast area was so hot that I had to leave my meal and exit the building

What a beautiful hotel with stunning grounds. The room was lovely with the best air con ever on one of the hottest nights! The staff were so friendly and so helpful ,we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning.

Things can only get better!

The room was clean and the upgraded bathroom was excellent. I tried to ring housekeeping for more towels, I hung on for a long time but no reply. Meal in the bar was frustrating. The waiter was very pleasant but we waited for a very long time for our meals to arrive along with others in the not very busy bar. One of our party of 3 wanted a dessert but there was no sign of anyone serving. I had to go to the bar and ask for service. The meals were ok but not very special. Chicken curry had 4 very small pieces of chicken. Breakfast food had a good choice but the food was just about ok. We were shown to a table that needed clearing and we had to call the staff member back to clean a dirty table. I'm sorry to say this but standards are slipping badly. Checkout was easy and efficient with a very pleasant member of the reception team.

Average stay but beautiful setting/grounds

The hotel has great facilities and perfect for a one or two night stay. The rooms unfortunately felt quite dated and some of the areas have fixes upon fixes (ie our bathroom had holes in tiles and then filled) which just adds to making it feel tired. Food was nice but quite expensive. I was also disappointed that the menu did not reflect the gluten free options available and I ended up with very limited choice (after being quite excited with the choices on the menu!). I also asked for gluten free toast in the morning as the area was not stocked well - it had ran out of GF bread and cereal but it never came. The fried breakfast station really should have labels on too. There were 2 parties on whilst we stayed, one being a very loud wedding. This is to be expected in a hotel of this size but with the heat and having no air con or fans, it left us with no option but to have windows open and the music went on until very late.

Dunston Hall getaway treat

Really lovely house with tasteful decoration and furnishing. booked a Classic king room , which was confortable and ample for the few nights we stayed. No air con , but not sure if other rooms may have this as an upgrade? But staff very helpful and delivered plug in vans to help as it was very hot , especially over night.

Golf course was fun and challenging. Bedroom clean and spacious Bathroom poor: toilet seat set at an angle, shower door seal fell off. Restaurant menu uninspiring and limited. Sent steak back which arrived undercooked. Service very good. All staff were friendly and helpful Would stay here again but probably eat out.
