Good stay overall, for a hostel very clean, spacious, nice bar. Good luggage lockers and communal kitchen. Location not too bad, walkable from the HBF, right near the tram. Not a 5/5 as the entrance is dodgy, lots of homeless people hang around outside, not inviting at all. As a young male it didn't bother me too much but definitely needs to be sorted out for others.

Employees refused to take my passport information

Not a good experience at A&I Stuttgart. Right away, the employees refused to take my passport information and insisted I connect to an *unsecure* network to enter all my personal information myself while they stood around twiddling their thumbs. Their sign at the desk says 'scan this to save time' yet it was one of the longest check-in processes in recent memory. No wonder why the lines are so long to check in. The people behind me were not happy. If you want to do laundry, you will be forced to download an app. Very glitchy process, and I got charged twice in error. Even though the nightly rate is cheap, expect to be nickle-and-dimed, and hope your personal information doesn't get hacked over their unsecure network.

Had to check in with my phone , normally don't a smart device so lucky I could do it . Get in beds not stripped , no clues of which were in us and which were not . Room smelled real bad , like it hasn't seen air ever . Lastly the charger port I was pretty much relying on working didn't , smashed to bits .
