Water temp in shower was all over. Hotel is advertised as ocean front but you have to walk multiple blocks up a steep hill and/or stairs to get to it. The toilets do not flush properly. Room was dated. Housekeeping did not clean the room until late in the afternoon and therefore missed my room. Subpar experience considering the price.

Cons : I previously enjoyed my stay at this hotel, which made this visit quite disappointing. Half of the building was closed, and this was only communicated after the booking was confirmed. Additionally, the room did not have air conditioning, which is unexpected for a hotel of this standard. The condition of the carpet and shower also gave the room an outdated and worn impression. Pros : Service and location is good

Trying to find parking and the lobby at midnight after a long ferry ride was challenging but the room itself was great, one of the best we've been in on this trip. The staff were also very helpful.

Staff were lovely. Bed was super comfortable. The access to the hotel was poorly communicated. We thought the entry of the hotel was on the waterfront - easy to come and go. We had to walk up stairs which were horrific, especially with luggage (we didn’t know about the road) or we had to walk up and down a hill which was the equivalent of 7 floors. If we had known then we would have changed hotels to be honest. An email two days before explaining a road change what taxi/uber drivers didn’t follow was poor. Then finding the actual entry was difficult. We luckily saw a staff member who explained to us where to go. There was no signs except for on the entrance door. We had two spoons. That was all the cutlery. We understood there was no kitchen but a knife and fork would have been handy especially for the price of the room. View was lovely. Room was quiet.

The hotel location is very nice, right across from Oriental Bay and easy walk to downtown. The restaraunt doesn’t really seem to serve the purpose of food for guests. It is more like an upscale city restaraunt. This meant we always ate out.

Overall getting an email less than 24 hours before check in and no way of communicating with the site was very frustrating and unprofessional by both parties. I would not recommend anyone to do that with either of you as the experience was stressful and not a good way to start a holiday.
