Central lodge is a short walk from cottages, which are spaced around campus. My cottage was good, but could have used a bit updating (compared to Powederhorn, in Ohakune). If you are hiking the Tongariro, it is very convenient to trailhead. Lodge dining facility was very good.

our chalet was comfortable and quite spacious. BUT the basin in the bathroom was cracked and the door difficult to open and close. We could not be moved to another room as fully booked but we were given a small discount.

Beautiful grounds

We enjoyed the lodge, however, I would have liked a bed frame, not just the mattress on the floor, it was too low for me. They really need to invest in beds for their mattresses. But the room was clean and the bathroom was good size and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
