Needs air conditioning and extend pool time

Sunny weather meant the rooms were very hot. No air conditioning, windows have safety restraints so windows only open a little. Too hot to sleep. Pool is open until 9pm but children must leave by 6.30pm and not allowed in until 9am. This is not a resort hotel so, after being out all day in Birmingham we didn’t arrive until 5.30-6pm. Meant children only had a few minutes to cool down and play in the pool.

Too hot 🔥

I have stayed at the village several times over the past year and overall the hotel is clean, staff are extremely helpful, the gym is good although sometimes it gets a little busy, better tongonearlybor late, however this time i stayed the rooms were just too hot, as the climate changes the village hotel may have to look at air conditioning, already that is now one of the first things im looking foe when booking. Its not good when your working away, your facing clients and uiu have had no sleep because of the heat, a shame because everything else is spot on..

Bedroom was ok. Cleanliness was average with hair in sink bowl and grimy plug socket but otherwise clean. Bed was comfortable bathroom with bath. Dinner options for vegetarians were awful particularly for a brand that associates with health spa gym etc. 2 options: vegetarian burger or vegetarian pizza. Very poor choice and nothing remotely healthy. Surrounding area all similar McDonald's, KFC, pizza hut etc

No air conditioning. Our room was hotter than the 7th circle of hell. The staff did replace the broken desk fan in our room when we asked but it did little apart from move the hot air around. Also the windows only open 1cm. Wish we had booked the premier inn opposite.

Check in made possible by a helpful efficient young woman. Bedroom clean and comfortable, bathroom clean and provided with basic toiletries. The choice at breakfast was wide and the hot food fresh.

Not sure what Village hotels are all about, but they have it wrong. It's overpriced, uncomfortable, you even need to check in yourself! I'm afraid this is travel lodge quality at mid hotel prices. Food in the restaurant was ridiculously expensive for a microwave meal. Air con downstairs but nothing in any rooms, come on even premier inn have this!!! The room are basically prefabs pre built when constructed ans as such sound dampening wasn't a feature. This was my first and last try of village hotels!
