Charming hotel with perfect location

The hotel is quaint and charming. It is literally around the corner from the Porta Nigra, which is the entrance into the historic district of Trier.

A must stay

The stay was wonderful considering the world today with COVID. All of the appropriate measures were taken for social distancing. The breakfast was great, the room was comfortable and the staff were quite pleasant.

The staff are really friendly and helpful. When I am again in Trier, I will stay there again. The hotel is in a great location, very near the Porta Norge and the Hauptmarket.

This is Not a 4+ rating hotel.

The room was very dirty. There was long hair on one of our pillows and the bathroom was definitely not cleaned after the last quests left. There was hair in the sink, in the shower and on the bathroom floor. The positives were that the hotel staff were very pleasant, the location is good and the breakfast was fairly good.

Great short stopover in Trier

I selected this for its location, and it's perfect for walking to the Porte Nigra and the rest of the old city. The hotel itself was also a pleasant surprise, with clean comfortable rooms and a nice breakfast to send us on our way in the morning.

Everything is fine except the 5th floor where no elevator can be reached. It is not recommended the 5th floor if you have a heavy luggage.

Casa Chiara perfect spot to stay in Trier

We loved Casa Chiara. The location is perfect...right by Porta Nigra and a nice walk to the river. The staff is friendly and helpful. The gentleman at breakfast is attention and the breakfast plentiful. Highly recommend!

Captures the spirit of Trier !

Upon arriving ,engaging art on the walls draw one in .A spirit of art-filled liveliness and cheery simplicity characterize this place . Lovely stained glass windows in our room ,and the winding granite stairs are great accents . Our room was quiet ,dark ,excellent for sleeping, despite close proximity to the major attractions . Bedding was clean and comfortable .The complementary toiletries were quite sparse ,but that's not how we judge a hotel . The breakfast is superb and an excellent value....Wish we had a Casa Chiara in the USA !

Lovely boutique hotel close to all attractions

I loved this little hotel. We stayed at other small hotels while in Germany, and this one was the best of them all. There is parking behind the hotel for guests. We stayed in a triple room with my husband, me and our 16 year old. The room was small, but comfortable and clean. The bathroom was large by European standards. No AC in the hotel, but we stayed mid-August and had no problems with temp when we popped the windows open. No noise from the street below so we could get a decent night's sleep. Breakfast buffet was traditional German style and well run. The hotel is close to everything you want to see in Trier - Black Gate, churches, gardens and museums. All within walking distance and walking through a large, outdoor shopping area to get to them. Lots of restaurant choices close by too. We would definitely stay at Casa Chiara again.

Modest but fantastic

Great location 1 block from the old city. Covered parking was a nice plus. Great breakfast, lovely service. Room was modest in terms of finishes but quiet, clean and spacious. Would return in a heartbeat!
