The hotel itself is in a lovely idyllic location on the lake Windermere (lakeside) Very picturesque. The grounds are well maintained. The restaurant food was excellent and staff were very accommodating. The only downside was stains on the carpet in the bedroom and chipped furniture ,bathroom radiator was very rusty and marks on the walls definitely think the room needs to be freshly painted . Asked for extra teas and coffee milk from the reception in the evening but didn’t receive them was very disappointed and for the price we paid £294.00 per night we expected the room to be perfect. A lovely quiet part of the Lake District, which makes for a relaxing holiday. Great views of the lake, which can be enjoyed from the conservatory and gardens.

Just got back from 3 nights at the Lakeside Hotel. Beautiful hotel and the scenery Lakeside is amazing. So peaceful and so nice to retreat to after a day in places like Bowness. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Food was excellent. A perfect trip and we will be back.

Lovely area ,great views,property was tired and creaky. Staff were very pleasant ,£6.50 a pint and £8 a glass of wine caused a serious lack of drinking. If you want to go anywhere,the local roads are tight and twisty with some the bushes were touching my mirrors. All in all pleasant stay,but don’t think I’ll be back.

Romantic vegan getaway

This was a wonderful romantic stay. The hotel is stunning and view was sensational. The staff looked after us and the food . Vegan & gluten free options were great. Will definitely recommend to all our family & friends. We will be returning.

Stunning location but room very hot

Great stay overall but due to no air conditioning available in the rooms, the heat was unbearable in the hot weather. A small fan was in the room but didn't make too much difference. The room was nice but could've done with modernising more like having plugs near the bed with USBs in and more modern decor. Beautiful location and breakfast was lovely.

Amazing views and a quiet location… food was excellent… if not a little on the expensive side,as there isn’t any where else to eat . The room which we had was Comfortable and clean… a little warm with no air conditioning but there was a fan which helped a little. The spa and pool facilities was excellent. The staff were friendly and happy to help. Definitely be back

Great place for a treat

60th birthday present. Weekend stay. Clean and comfortable, good facilities although as weather was so warm we did not use pool and spa. Food was excellent we stayed on B&B basis, plenty of choice, good quality ingredients. We also booked in for evening meal in restaurant again food was excellent, a real treat.

Beautiful location and friendly helpful staff. However, there wasn't a walk-in shower (only over the bath) and no handrails. Also the room was very hot and we were advised not to open the windows after dark!
