Heated outdoor pool was pleasant , hot tub nice temp but jets did not work. Room seemed sound proof. Easy and very convenient self parking under building for $60, parking nearby can be cheaper in office building or convention areas. Short walk to Gastown, easy access to to Seawall and a 10-15 min safe walk to Robson Street. Room had fridge, kettle and coffee. Can understand why this is a top choice for Alaska bound cruisers.

I waited a long time to rate this hotel; I've stayed before, and it was very nice. This time, the smoke alarm started to beep, first hourly, then eventually about every ten minutes. It started at ab out 2:30AM...and I didn't know what it was, and then at 3;20, and so on until it was frequent by the time I checked out. At check out I did say it had been a difficult night, and the clerks' only response was to say I should always call. At 2;30AM, when I didn't know what it was...not until about 4:00 did I figure it out. They should check this stuff. It was no doubt a back up battery. They all have them. And after a a few years they ought to be replaced. As for food? The afternoon before I ordered a small pizza, it was covered with water. So, I sent it back. My friend said it was the worst looking pizza he had ever seen. Maybe the place has seen better days. No compensation whatsoever was offered, just weak statement that it wasn't up to their standard. I don't normally write bad reviews...in fact, never. But this was kind of a disaster. Meant to be a short, restful getaway. It was anything but that. The city, which I know and l love, was great. The ferry ride, was great. The people were fun. The museum of anthropology at UBC, spectacular. The view from the Pan Pacific, wonderful. The restful getaway? DID NOT HAPPEN. Likely to start there again? NOT.
