This hotel is a total hidden treasure! If it was good enough for the President of Italy, then it was good enough for us. Old rustic Venetian atmosphere & timeless charm epitomize this beautifully landscaped property that is tucked away from the chaos & multitudes of people you get in the San Marco district. We can’t wait to come back!

Our stay at the Pensione Accademia was spectacular! The location is perfect, quiet with gardens and an easy walk to the sites. It was clean, decorated with antiques and art. The staff was exceptional - with service and a kind, friendly atmosphere. Bravo!

The staff weren’t rude but they weren’t friendly. Some staff were nice like the gentleman at the buffet who greeted us in the morning and asked how we enjoyed our food. We stayed for three nights and there were several times where we’d enter the hotel and the guy at the front desk would say nothing. Our shower wasn’t draining properly and we asked them to fix it. They didn’t so we recorded a video to show them and on our last night they fixed it with a meager, “sorry”. On the bright side, the room is clean, location is great, and the buffet was lovely. We also left two things in the hotel and when we returned, they kindly went to our room to retrieve the items.

The property was beautiful with a lovely garden. Breakfast every morning had more then you could want or need. Comfortable bed and cozy quaint room ours had a lovely view of the canal. Lovely and friendly staff/ the front desk gentleman was very helpful, I just wish I remembered his name. He told us about a free tour to a glass blowing factory in Burano which was fabulous, with a free taxi ride, that was like a tour because it was such a beautiful way to see the city on the way to Burano, if you can take advantage of the free tour. Overall I can not say enough about our visit to Venice and our stay at this hotel. Only negative is if you have issues with stairs ask for a Downstairs room if possible. I will recommend to anyone going to Venice.

The garden with its partial view on the Canal Grande offers relaxing moments away from the crowds. My room was very quiet and comfortable, it was equipped with a nice polished wooden floor and other details of high quality.

This is a beautiful property with wonderful staff. We had a room overlooking a small canal and about 100 feet from the grand Canal. Air conditioning does not start until June. This means you need to open the windows and they can be noisy. The noise depends on who happens to be boating by the window. Most of the time there was not a lot of noise it was somewhat random. The courtyards two of them were nice. Needless to say Google maps is a must to get around Venice. We would definitely stay at this hotel, if we come back to Venice. Breakfast was wonderful. The staff was wonderful. From the airport, we took a taxi and then walked to the hotel took a while to get used to the streets. To get to the train station the front desk called us a water taxi. This was convenient but expensive. There were many really nice restaurants, nearby reasonably priced and a lot of options. One night we had a bottle of wine and sat on the front patio and enjoyed the view and each other.

Great location and atmosphere

Had a lovely stay here, very walkable to all of the big sights, but felt less overwhelmed than other areas. The hotel and its garden were charming and welcoming. I would recommend to anyone! We also enjoyed the breakfast each day, which was well appointed.

My partner and I had a lovely stay here. The location was perfect - it's near enough to the tourist areas but nice and quiet, tucked away at the end of a footpath so no passing foot traffic at night either. The staff were friendly and amenable - they fulfilled a cheeky request for a canal view as we couldn't find a specific option to book one on Expedia, they allowed us to check in 30mins early on arrival and held a backpack for us on our last day so we could explore for the day without luggage. Breakfast spread was lovely with hot and cold/sweet and savoury options for all needs. The decor was lovely and traditional without feeling stuffy, and our room was spotless on arrival. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pensione Accademia

Had a wonderful stay. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. The staff was helpful and friendly. Only thing to keep in mind- it’s right on a canal which is great for travel but boats are going early in the morning and can be a bit loud. Didn’t diminish my stay though!
