Enjoyed the room, and facility. The concierge service was poor, and misleading. We booked a 1/2 day tour of the locks for $310. The Concierge said that we would be picked up between 6&9 depending on the tour service. We booked this on 10/22. On 10/25 at 6pm we were told pickup would be 4:50 am. We are in our 70’s. We are checking out that day, and couldn’t have possibly been ready at 4:50. I sent a email to the Marriott manager have not heard back. Now I am going to have to challenge the charge with my credit card company. Caveat Emptor

Nice property. USA prices but not surprising if you book a mariott in Panama. If I had planned better, I would have stayed in a more unique place. Seems like more of an event hotel. Cava bar had some awesome cocktails and Misi food and wine was great.

The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The pool area was beautiful as were the views from our room. The food was good and there were restaurants close by. The only downside was there were renovations happening throughout not only this hotel but the buildings next door so whether inside or outside you could hear the construction crews.

I recently stayed at the JW Marriott Panama and had a mixed experience. When we checked in, I realized that the room we were given had no ocean view at all, even though I had paid for a partial ocean view. The hallway leading to the room had a strong moldy smell, and the room itself also had a noticeable moldy odor. I immediately called customer service to share my concerns, and to their credit, they responded quickly—someone came up in less than five minutes and switched us to another room. The new room was much better and did have the partial ocean view we paid for. It was comfortable overall, though the hallway still smelled like a wet rug with a bit of a musty scent. Unfortunately, during our stay, we did see a small roach run across the room, which my husband tried to kill. For a hotel that’s rated five stars, that was disappointing. The property itself is beautiful, and the pool area was very nice. However, the hotel could really benefit from some upgrades and better maintenance to live up to its five-star reputation. Overall, it was an okay stay—not terrible, but not quite worth the hype.

Staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. Property is beautiful and the amenities are great. Only down side is they are not very detailed in cleaning rooms, lots of stains and clear rush to complete the job. Maybe they are understaffed in this area.
