An awful (sleepless) first night in a room with curtains that didn’t properly cover the window and inadequate blinds not fully able to close. This meant that the room was not private. Room move denied as no rooms were available.
A wonderfully helpful staff member moved us to an upgraded room the next morning which was much better and the curtains covered the windows. Thus room had been refurbished so was much better than the first.
A lovely stay thereafter but spoiled by a terrible first night, not compensated in any way (considering the cost paid for such a poor night’s sleep) apart from the room upgrade which we considered was a minimum.
