On my arrival at the property my initial thoughts were that this place looks derelict or abandoned and I thought, do I have the right place but it was. Inside the hotel is the reception and it looks okay but on my way to my room I thought this place needs some TLC and so does the room.
The property is absolutely discusting. Hotel csr park and out side is all broken, tired looking and old.
Really rude staff.
Room was awful. Stained matress, lights hanging out the socket. Damp smell and mold in the corner. Please check trip advisor but i will beg anyone not to stay here. Pay the extra 10 pound a night and stay somewhere else
The staff were friendly but that is the only positive I can give this stay. The room door didn't close properly, so I had to place a chair by the door for safety reasons. The beds were so uncomfortable, when I lay down, I sunk into the damaged mattress, my head was low on the wafer thin pillow due to what I'm assuming is a broken divan that dipped lower at the head end, my back was in a huge hole/dip and my feet were in the air! There was a kettle and no cups, the windows didn't close properly and we were only given one towel for 2 guests. This is by far the worst accommodation I have ever been to!
Receptionist guy was lovely but room wasnt very clean it was an old spring matress and could feel everyone of them in my back , bathroom smelt , no bins in the room
Room had a kettle but no cups or anything so had to go and buy one
I wouldnt go back
Dirty walls and carpets in the bedroom, stale smokey smells and on the sheets. Untidy grounds. Night staff very nice young man. No cups or tea / coffee or milk. Noisy with unemployed staying there and up talking when thin walls. Not expensive but not worth 1/3 of the £54 paid.
On arrival I genuinely thought I'd made a mistake because the place looked so shabby and deserted. The guy at "reception" barely looked up and didn't engage- gave the impression he hated his job & anyone who walked through the door. No details given about the room or my stay, just a key shoved in my face.
The corridors were gloomy and unlit so I had to stumble to the room around various buckets laying on the floor (presumably for roof leaks)
Inside my very cramped room there were crane flies & bugs everywhere. No wardrobe/hairdryer/iron, not even decor. It was shabby, hot, stuffy and not soundproof. Annoying green light directly above the bed and the curtains were falling off the rails &didn't shut properly- this is unacceptable especially for the ground floor. Stained floors & bedding and the place had a weird smell. Cracked tiles and the bathroom mirror light didn't work so doing my hair was a nightmare (zero mirrors in the bedroom). Would never stay here again, I hope this place is shut down so no one else loses money on such a worthless experience.
Also note this "hotel" doesn't supply tea, coffee or biscuits in rooms... BUT you do get a kettle- I assume for those who enjoy a cup of boiling water🙄 I barely trusted the water for drinking & had to use my hands as no glasses were provided.
Shocking accommodation all round- I was sorely tempted to walk out when I saw the place but unfortunately had no funds to go elsewhere. So much for a nice relaxing break 😡
Shocked by state of building. Clear that this hotel is in trouble. Looks like old peoples home when entering. The bedroom was clean but window locks broken, windows rotted. Gaps around door. No lock on door for the adjoining room on our side. Kettle provided but no cups or glasses etc. no plug in bathroom sink, shower hose broken. Hotel grounds overgrown and not maintained in years. It would also appear that possibly this hotel is being used for temporary accommodation. This is not a wedding or function hotel, or suitable for short breaks. Can’t recommend at all. Does not look like bar or restaurant been open for years. External fire escape stairs rotted away completely. Do not trust any photos for this property. On the plus side staff polite and helpful.
