I frequently stay at the Hyatt House when traveling to Washington, DC. The staff is professional, friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean and newly renovated. The new upgrades are great. Highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed 1 night. Got down to breakfast at 8:30, the options were eggs, French toast sticks, potatoes, and bacon. The line was long. They ran out of breakfast, we waited for about 45. They ran out again. At the dry bar they had limited bread, about 3 options for cereal, yogurt and granola. Check out is at 11:00, housekeeping knocked twice and then just came into my room at 10:12 looking confused as if I was late to check out. Parking garage is available. Valet for overnight is $62- a bit ridiculous. Overall, for the price this place wasn’t what I was expecting- 3 stars and that’s pushing it.

First thing right off the bat was parking, what a nightmare, you can either pay for valet or pay even more to park yourself. I parked myself because when i first got there i called about parking. I was told by the staff who answered the phone, you can park yourself and turn in your parking ticket to be refunded. I could remember how she said to do it so i went back to the desk the next day and was told there isnt anything like that. So we got there at almost midnight the first night and left the next day before lunch and paid our 38 dollar parking fee even though the daily max said 30. Your better off to pay the lost ticket fee of 30 dollars. Then when we checked in that night we were surprised with a 300 dollar incidental fee, 100 per night. I was told it doesnt say that on the 3rd party booking sites, where you pay "all the fees", you're expect to go to their website to find that out yourself, at least it was returned after but absolutely ridiculous that it couldnt be added into the fees when booking if its a set 100 per night. Not to mention the elevators were sketchy, shaking, popping, etc and one was under construction the entire time we were there on the inside and not a bit of progress was made with what looked to be like cosmetic work. Id stay elsewhere next time if i ever did come back to the area.

Checked in to discover that they had a water main break, so NO WATER in the hotel. No habd-washing. No toilet-flushing. No showering. Did they offer to find us different accommodations? Refund our money for the unsanitary conditions? No—they offered us free parking. Still no water in the morning. How do you stay open without water??
