Awesome hotel right in the middle of everything. Service was impeccable, quiet room and safe. Rooms were a little small for a guy over 6'3" but we were not in the room very much. Many great sights to see. Our dinner was for our 40th wedding anniversary and it was amazing. Our waiter suggested the lamb and it was a great choice.

We really enjoyed our stay overall, the rooms were clean and the hotel it's self was maintained well. The only negatives were the water in the shower seemed to be on the cool side in the morning and also the restaurant seemed to be closed for private parties pretty frequently.

Hotel was beautiful and Cafe Riggs are delicious and convenient. The only thing I would complain about is the toilet room was very small and you could barely enter and still close to door. Other than that enjoyed my stay and highly recommend.

The lady at the front desk has tried to sell us the upgrade and told us that there is no upgrade on our booking, and gave us a basic room. When I found my reservation, I went back to the front desk, and they changed our room to an "upgrade"; the room was larger, but there was a horrible smell in the room. When I told them about smell, they sent us an AIRWICK!!! real disaster for a 5-star hotel!!

The Riggs is a jewel for DC. The hotel is in a historic bank building that is stunning. The dining and bar areas are gorgeous! The staff hands down are the friendliest I have ever experienced in Washington and I go to Washington fairly often. My only regret is not dining in their restaurant as it was a lively scene and the food looked delicious!
