This is a very old property. Rooms were very dated but clean and comfortable. Elevator was broken so we had to lug luggage up the stairs. Excellent loction to stay at if you are in town for a play at the theater which is just around the corner. Several restaurants nearby.

The hotel was an interesting old building with a lot of history. I wish I had the time to learn more about the building and the town. Would love to come back. It’s not fancy by today’s standards, but I can see where it was in its time. The staff were super friendly and welcoming.

Radiator air vent was bad and loudly hissing steam every time the heat turned on. Not great especially with two small kids. Combined with noise from the trains and plow we did not sleep much. It was a cool expierence, the staff was very nice.

Needs improvement.

Historic hotel, so some things are to be expected. However, the elevator was out of order. The bed was so very uncomfortable. Shower drain did not work efficiently, so I was standing in almost 2" of cold water. The biggest issue we had was that upon arriving I requested a late checkout, and was told that was no problem. The next morning my wife received a rude call from the front desk asking her why she wasn't checked out yet. Upon explaining that we were told we could check out at 1, the clerk told her that there was no note left for him and if she wasn't out by noon there would be a charge. No attempt to confirm with the night clerk. No attempt to assist. Customer service training is needed.

Like walking into another area; historic hotel. Unfortunately the room and upstairs area were in pretty bad shape; bathroom had rusty water and bathtub needed updating. We were fine with it, but other travelers just need to adjust expectations on room conditions vs. website!

Wont get restful sleep if light sleeper

Staff was stellar. Just very warm and helpful. The issue is with our room. Due to old heating, every hours it sounded like a consteuction crew was renovating right under us. Im heavy sleeper and woke twice. My wife who is light sleeper disnt sleep at all.

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. My family couldn’t sleep due to the loud noise from the heating system and the street outside. On top of that, the entire room had a terrible smell. All the furniture is old and needs to be replaced. I strongly advise against booking this hotel—it was a nightmare for my family.

You definitely get what you pay for. This place was good enough for a quick one night stay before a ski trip, but DO NOT stay here in a street facing room if there is snow in the forecast. As it is an old building, the walls are very thin and there was a plow in front of our window from 2-4 am which kept us awake. Not the hotel’s fault, but it definitely ruined our experience. The place is quaint, the front desk staff was a bit rude, but overall it was a cheap bed to sleep in.
