Lovely hotel, and good services, bed was okay, the room was also okay, the breakfast was good. The food in the restaurant was brilliant. The use of the Bentley is a good touch.

Class hotel

A lovely 3 day stay with my wife for my 60th birthday. Location excellent, Staff very friendly & cooperative, rooms clean ,tidy & modern. We didn't eat in the restaurant apart from breakfast which was good. The complimentary Bentley was a bonus getting into town. Will definitely go again...

It’s ok

Our stay was ok. It was a lovely hotel with fantastic customer service but we were disappointed with the Spa being open to kids and quite a lot at the same time. Kids were playing in the plunge pool and hot tubs which made it difficult to relax and ruined our stay as we were only allowed to use the facilitates the same time as kids. This became an issue in the changing rooms too as the locker area is very small. We probably wouldn’t revisit and I’d definitely opt for kid-free spa’s now.

The staff wer exceptional, the room and jacuzzi wer perfection and breakfast was great too! My only complaint would be there was no smoking allowed on the bar terrace, they had fires in the table and amazing cocktails but not a smoking area, I'd have spent £100s and hours on that terrace but instead we stayed for one and left into town. They offer food so I can understand why but there should have been a smoking area.

The room was lovely but needed updating, no USB ports, no info in room about surrounding area and no WiFi password info. The service from all the staff was first class, public areas were really clean. The food was excellent

Great stay

We had a great time here, the room was spacious and all the staff were very friendly. The only downsides were that a gym is advertised on the hotel listing which there isn’t one & we both paid £90 for a full body massage and after asking for firm pressure it was more on the softer side.

We had a very disappointing stay at the lakes hotel and spa. Our first impression of the hotel was arriving Friday evening and having a relaxing spa at the end of our journey. What we arrived to was a unlit dark and seedy room with empty alcohol glasses all over the tables and 7 couples being intimate in the pool. Whilst I can't blame the hotel for the guests behaviour, it's important for prospective guests to be aware of the vibes of the place. We left the spa immediately and it was a similar experience when we tried again on Saturday late afternoon. The mix of alcohol and no natural light was an unpleasant one. The room was nice, spacious and clean but the location doesn't really lend itself well to exploring the lake district (this was my mistake in booking accommodation in the area). The breakfast was satisfactory. I can understand the parking charges which are clear and upfront as there is limited capacity but it felt like a kick in the teeth after an already expensive weekend.

My wife and I really enjoyed our recent stay at The Lakes Hotel & Spa. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and we were pleasantly surprised with the upgrade to a room with a hot tub – a lovely touch that really made our stay feel special. The room itself was spot on – clean, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing. We also had dinner at Mizumi, which was a real highlight. The food was excellent and full of flavour – we especially liked the sharing plates. Overall, we’d rate our stay a solid 10/10. We’ will definitely be back again in the near future.
