Overall pleasant stay in a cosy garden room.Bit of noise from surrounding rooms could hear next door quite clearly taps running doors opening and closing also dog barking on other side.Really disappointed on top of room rate had to pay £15 to park car surely the fact weve paid to stay in the hotel over other hotels in the area that should be a reward to park car for free just think for the price for 1 night £175 parking would be included lets look at the obvious 7 nights times 175 plus parking 7x190 is £1300 that equates to 7 nights in Cancan Mexico all inclusive is it any wonder people go abroad. Really think hotels in this country missed a a massive trick especially after covid with the Staycations instead of upping prices should have been reasonable and encouraged people to stay in this county keep money in our economy wish some hotel or major chain would challenge some of the major tour operators and say STAY HERE DONT GO ABROAD WE WONT RIP YOU OFF maybe instead of running at 60 to 70 percent occupancy in peak seasons and 30 to 45 in off peak you could encourage people to spend their money with reasonable prices and promotions and have a more regular occupancy. As a hotel obviously your bulk of trade relys on tourism but look just down the road you have a thriving shipyard with an abundance of people with ready cash perhaps looking for weekend breaks at reasonable prices just one example. I know i
will get the usual generic response but its just my observation i believe
Having previously stayed at the Belsfield Hotel we booked a one night stay

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
Sadly arrived and our lake view room was full of scaffolding which we was not warned about prior.
Very upsetting as we paid extra for my wife’s birthday.
The team did offer us a discount though and apologised.
The lift was out of order. We wanted a lake view and to use the gardens, but there was scaffolding impeding our view and all laid across the gardens. If we knew about this, we would not have stayed at this property. We had no choice but to stay because we had nowhere else to go. We would like a refund for this terrible experience because it was not as described or advertised and we weren’t given an opportunity to change our minds.

The attention to detail was wonderful! The attitude of the staff was very commendable. The food was fantastic!
The only (slight) fly in the ointment, the lift was out of order.
We were given a tiny room which was inferior to the one we booked and listed as cheaper.
Alot of building work causing disruption.
On 2nd floor, lift out of order, 44 stairs to our floor.
Generally a let down.
Great location and view of Lake Windermere. Unfortunately when making the booking we were not made aware of the ongoing renovation at the hotel, therefore we ended up with a noisy bedroom, could not use the gym and the bathtub was blocked.
We did not have bath towels upon checking in, when I asked for hair conditioner, the front desk referred me to the Tesco down the road!
This is not a 4 star hotel, not the amenities not the service level.
The downstairs common areas are really lovely. The grounds, the lounges and the staff were great. The room on the other hand was very shabby. Room 83. The furniture was shabby, a previous leak had made the ceiling bulge. The crack and bulge has just been painted over. The bathroom was not clean and again, very shabby. This is such a shame as I had wanted to stay here for a while. There is no welcome literature or info in your room. The bedroom felt a bit baron, not the Laura Ashley vibe at all. The downstairs and upstairs do not match. The stairs and carpet are very worn and the carpet is filthy. The lift did not work and we checked in an hour late due to our room not being ready. I have to stay the staff did make up for this and offered as a complimentary drink when we couldn’t check in so complaints there. A hotel of two halves!

There was lots of building work going on, really noisy early morning.
Pillows like pancakes so take ur own.
The bathroom could have done with a grout clean it was really mouldy. Blinds were dirty.
Furniture very dated. The ceiling over bed was about to fall in.
The glass cabinet in the hall was displaying wedding table arrangements which was all full of dirty water. You would think that a display for advertising would be pristine.
I would give this a 3 star.
Gardens were beautiful until I walked down hill to find lots of empty bud bottles.
No hairdryers. £15 a night for parking a bit cheeky.

Close to everything, great customer service, fast check in, clean, comfortable, plenty of parking, good sized bed, wide selection for breakfast and a great roll top bath for relaxing in at the end of a long day!!
We had a lovely 2 night stay and would recommend.
The rooms were well presented, clean and tidy which was great. First floor room was cold though and heating didn’t come on.
Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice - really enjoyed that.
Check-in wasn’t great as rooms were an hour or so late in bring ready, but a drinks voucher was offered by means of an apology.
We’ll stay here again, and would recommend to others!
Staff were friendly and rooms were just what we needed, had a great stay. Would recommend!
