When the breakfast area was busy there were never quite enough tables prepared to keep up with demand. The buffet quickly ran out of items which were not replaced efficiently and without asking. On quieter days the buffet breakfast was well managed.

Loved the large room I had and the king bed was so comfortable I slept well. There is an elevator but also stairs so lugging baggage is challenging. The breakfast buffet was fabulous!

We stayed in a deluxe double room, which was well presented and spacious, with a luxurious deep bath, separate shower, washbasin, and toilet. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and overall gave a good first impression. When booking, the room advertised free guest WiFi; however, although the network appeared available, it would not connect or function at all. This would not have been a major issue, but we also received no 5G reception anywhere within the hotel. This may suit guests wanting to switch off and be a little “off grid,” but it is inconvenient if you still need access to emails or other phone functions. The television also had issues, with several channels not working properly and others suffering from poor reception, causing the picture to jump and flicker throughout viewing. The PIN code entry system for the doors was a nice touch and a welcome change from key cards that often need reactivating. However, we could not see an additional internal security lock on the door, which would have provided extra reassurance overnight. There was also a noticeable gap under the door, allowing light from the hallway to enter the room during the night. Guests who prefer a dark sleeping environment may find this disruptive, though it could likely be resolved with a simple draft excluder.

When we arrived, after a journey of 150 miles, wehad no reservation, and after 2 hours,on the phone, wereinformed that Expedia had overbooked. Hotel staff were fantastic, but we had to quickly book train tickets, and head for home. Awful experience, and a ruined weekend. If Expedia knew, in advance, let me know before I make the journey. I received an email, the day before saying " are you looking forward to your trip to Dumfermline?" Absolutely shocking service from Expedia. I now have to try to reclaim the cost of two train journeys. Never again. P.S. I do not hold Amorist Hotel responsible. The staff were most helpful, especially the gentleman on reception. Thank you.
