Obviously its old, since the whole building was old. Everything worked well, nice and quiet, just a little "faded" and worn. Personally, it was part of the charm - it felt like a real old fashioned room.

The stairs to our room were a nightmare, steep, narrow, and dirty. This beautiful old building needs a good clean up. Obviously the money is in the gambling! I do not know why we weren't given a room in the back area, as it did not look to be fully booked. i would not recommend staying here.

I couldn’t book in until 3 pm - that is simply not good enough ! No tissues in room. No shower wash liquid in dispenser in the shower - same as last time I stayed ! Toilet paper so thin it was almost invisible - had to be careful not to touch my tonsils when using ! Disappointing because it is a great location. Not sure that I would stay there again. Not many options in Hahndorf as such a popular town.

Would not allow early check in. When we got in room was dark, dingy and cold. Tiny tv far away from bed. No sitting options, only a dining table and two dining chairs. Furniture in room old, broken and tired. Looks as if it’s come out of a different hotel(second hand). Bathroom drains smelly. Only tiny bottles of shampoo/conditioner. Bottle of water in fridge had been filled up from bathroom tap. WiFi was non existent the whole two nights. Teabags uncovered. Lamps and light fittings ripped and broken. Carpet on entrance in threadbare. Toilet brush was disgusting. Air conditioner barely got warm. Flat/old pillows. Need replacing. Then the big trucks started thundering past at 4am. So noisy. 4 saggy little hangers in cupboard. Needs an upgrade

Staff were excellent. We booked a traditional 2 bedroom accommodation and received 1 bedroom with a single bed in the dining room/kitchen. The locked internal door between our the neighbouring accommodation offered no noise barrier to our their conversations and television. The weather was 6 degrees and the airconditioner took a long time to work. The accommodation needs refurbishment, very outdated furnishings. Would not recommend. We did not stay and was only charged one night.

The staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic. The room looked great ( king spa chalet room 229). The accommodation was extremely disappointing, the pungent aroma of mould from wet skirting boards was overwhelming. We spoke to the staff and were moved to a different room which was no where near what we had booked, double bed and small tv. We were told that this room (229)had only just been listed again after being closed due to the damage and obviously hadn’t been checked between. For the price we paid even more disappointing. The room we were put in has cobwebs throughout and moldy shower curtains and dripping taps. There wasn’t any dishwashing liquid which spoke with staff about, they got housekeeping to attend to this. Housekeeping didn’t know what a dishcloth was, after explaining what was needed further they asked to refill the container (there wasn’t one). The staff did offer some drinks to apologize. The two star rating is purely due to the amazing staff who shouldn’t be having to deal with so many complaints due to the poor and dangerous condition of the room, these staff are also being exposed to the mould any time they enter the room, airing it out will not fix it.
