The hotel was in poor condition. Our room had noticeable scuff marks on the walls and bathroom floor, and the carpet at the entrance had large, visible holes. The windows were old and grimy, and the sills were covered in dirt and dust, clearly neglected for some time. The hallway carpet was torn and frayed at the seams, adding to the overall rundown appearance.
What made the experience worse was the front desk service in the morning. When I simply asked if I could check out by dropping my keys in the box, I was met with a rude, condescending response. I had interrupted a personal conversation. After answering me curtly, she actually apologized to her conversation partner—as if I was the inconvenience.
Also, the evening we stayed I asked for an extra blanket around 930pm, because the duvet is more like a thick sheet, and did not get a response until 730am when we were ready to check out.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially for a Kimpton property. I would not stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it. There are surely much better hotel options in the Buckhead area.
We picked this property as walkable to the Buckhead Theatre (walking is approx .5 mile). Our room was quiet and clean—no issues! Also, the hotel was very quiet for sleeping—no noisy elevators etc and great blackout shades to make the room dark. Very spacious bathroom. Each staff member we encountered was kind and gracious. We also took the elevator up to rooftop for great nighttime Atlanta skyline photos (no need to purchase from bar for this amenity)!
Convenient location in Buckhead near several shopping and dining establishments. Room layout and furnishings are nice, however we had multiple annoyances during our stay that indicate that service could be improved : no water pressure in shower and bathroom faucet, no additional toilet paper in-room at check in, one lamp wouldn’t turn on, confusing signage to get to the valet parking area. We arrived at 9pm on a stormy Friday night and were told that the restaurant was closed for a private event, that there was no room service, and that the only way we could get food is order directly from the bar upstairs. We went upstairs and it was total mayhem: no room so sit, loud music and overwhelmed staff (again at 9pm). When we went back downstairs to inquire if there was any other way to get food to our room, we were told Uber Eats was our only option. We ordered and waited in the lobby, which was very loud as some alarm kept on ringing on and off. This wasn’t the quiet night in we were looking for. All in all the experience didn’t meet my expectations as a Kimpton brand loyal customer and service was miles away from what we’ve encountered recently at The Shane in Midtown Altanta, a property I would warmly recon over this one.
Paid extra for 'city' view, but it tured out that we are facing a garage structure. The front desk told us that it used to be a nice city view, but next door started the construction and blocked the view. If that were the case, then they should not charge extra for a view which is no longer there.
Another issue is that we were over-charged for parking. I've called their Finance twice and left 2 messages, but it has been a week, no one ever called back.
