I stayed at the hotel while attending a birthday party and wanted to share a recap of my experience. One of the things I appreciated was the convenience of the pre-check-in option, which allowed me to notify the hotel in advance that my party and I would be arriving late due to our flight.
Check-in was smooth and easy. Since it was late, we quickly dropped our bags off in the room and headed out to find food. After returning and settling in for the night, we began to notice several issues. The toilet wouldn't flush properly, water was backing up in the sink, and the bathroom door, toilet tank, and light fixtures were noticeably dirty. The room had mismatched light bulbs, and the top covers on the beds appeared dingy.
Given the hour, I went down to the front desk to report the problems. The staff was very accommodating and offered either to resolve the issues or move us to a different room. We chose to switch rooms and were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a two-bedroom suite. While the new room was clean, modern, and much more comfortable, it lacked a refrigerator and microwave—amenities I would expect, especially at this price point.
Our original room with double beds was $300 per night. Even with the upgrade, I felt that basic features like a fridge or kitchenette should have been included. I can’t help but wonder if the condition of our original room had anything to do with booking through Expedia. That may not be the case, but it was my impression.
