Amazing location, staff, facilities, and room amenities. The one issue I experienced was with breakfast, where there there several days where there was little to no food available in the breakfast buffet. Asking the staff for more of a food item usually triggered a fast response but there should have been more observation of the food items.

We enjoyed our stay in Kyoto. The hotel had an authentic feel. It was a great location, close to transportation and a number of walkable locations. Pillows were very comfortable. They offer free activities a couple nights a week like Japanese calligraphy.

the nicest hotel i stayed at in japan by far, incredibly cozy rooms and beautifully decorated. great staff - i left my luggage early before check-in and they left it in the room for me after check-in. the area itself isn’t ~bad per se, but can be a little crowded on the street and lacks some of the kyoto charm you might be looking for. that said, there are lots of restaurants and places to shop, and very close to the river and the station. i would love to stay here again.

This was our second favorite hotel out of the 4 we stayed in while visiting Japan. It was in such a convenient location to walk to so many areas and tourist destinations in Kyoto. The staff was very friendly and kind. Our room was tiny and at times difficult to move around with several luggage bags/suitcases but was very clean. Nice toiletries and skin care available in lobby for use. When we were there, they had short cultural experiences/demonstrations on different days of the week. Would stay here again.

Very conveniently located hotel

Very conveniently located hotel near Pontocho Alley. Nice looking hotel from the outside. We booked a moderate double room but with hind sight we should have booked their bigger twin rooms. The moderate room is way too small if you have a couple of suit cases (meant for two weeks vacation). There is a common room on their ground floor where you can get coffee, hot chocolate or water and sit to catch a breather while planning your day ahead, or just back from your day trip or walks.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Clean, quiet yet in the middle of a busy shopping street. Great walking distance to train station, shopping and restaurants. Staff were helpful and polite. I would definitely come back and will recommend to friends traveling to Kyoto.

A perfect four night stay seeing the sights and using the incredibly easy public transport system. Clean, comfortable hotel in the heart of many eateries where we were spoilt for choice. The area was incredibly safe for us two women to walk around at night. Would recommend.
