Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities
The property is in a beautiful setting and looks great on the market pictures, but in reality it is severely neglected. As soon as we got into our room it smelt very damp and old. The glass in the bathroom cabinet doors was cracked and broken, the walls were marked, the paint was peeling around the bottom of the shower and the patio doors.
The room was full of dust and wasn’t clean- the maids didn’t clean the bathroom properly at all and there was still hair in the shower from the previous occupant.
What really made it apparent was when we went to the pool area. The Jacuzzi was absolutely disgusting.. it looked yellow in colour and dirt was settled on the areas where you sit in it. The pool was freezing and the jacuzzi was boiling.. the temperatures were completely off.
We went to lay downtown the loungers in the pool area.. I moved the cushion on my lounger and there were two spiders that ran out from under the cushion. It felt like this place had just been abandoned and no staff members were going round cleaning things on a regular basis, hence the dirty jacuzzi and the spiders making homes on the loungers.
There were cobwebs and insect nests all around the property walls and the gardens near the rooms weren’t kept well.
We had one meal at the hotel and it was crazy expensive for how small the potions were.
We would never stay again, it was a bad experience. This hotel has really diminished the good reputation we thought Voco had.
