Our room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfy. Check in was a breeze. Breakfast is very basic but great to grab a snack and coffee before getting on the road. Our only complaint was the water dispenser was empty the entire stay.

I dropped my hand soap and it went under the vanity. I fished it out and it was covered in dust and hair. That’s the general idea under all surfaces. The floor was peeling etc. Bed was short. The fan from the closet was dirty. No air control in room so have to keep window open in October because heat rises. No mini fridge as stated. The bathroom for room 9 is separate from the room across the hall. Walk up 4 flights fine for me. Might not be for others. Generally nice area. But for the price I accepted better. Understand that they ask for full payment before they give you a room key and don’t tell you that they don’t do refunds if you are unhappy with the accommodation. I don’t mind old houses. I mind thin walls in a hotel tho. Feel bad listing all this out but I honestly did not feel great about the place. If I knew these things beforehand I would have stayed somewhere else. They did say it was all listed in their website but it’s not listed on Expedia.

Easily walkable to BU for family weekend. Very pretty area. T stop nearby is both convenient and noisy. Really nice to be able to leave bags before check in and after check out. Yummy muffins in the morning and friendly staff!

I lived my stay at the Beacon Inn. The receptionist was very pleasant. The room was very clean, ample, the A/C was great. There was a mini fridge with a good size freezer. The lobby has a water dispenser with cold and hot water so you can fill up your water bottle or canister to make tea. Loved the location; walking distance to restaurants and a food store. or to take the Boston subway/over ground green line.

Parking is alittle crazy (worried car would be side swiped as parking on side of building in tiny alley. Also if anything happens overnight or before 8am you’re screwed!!! Blew a switch had no power from 6:30 til 8am my daughter was trying to get ready for PA interview and girl at desk was very offish.

Cozy room, exactly as pictured. Tea and snacks in the equally entrance area downstairs. Small outdoor area with a table, and a lovely Tatte cafe with outdoor seating down the street.

The place has imperfections. The shower was older, it lacked some of the things more modern places have. You could stay at a Marriott anywhere in the country. And no matter what city you are in, it would feel the same. If you’re looking for that, this is not the place for you. If you want to feel like you were a part of Boston, come here, as its imperfections are what give it beauty. This place feels like a place of transit. It was designed for travelers passing through the night. It is not for everyone, but those it is for, you will enjoy it.
