The staff here are what make this place so fantastic! The rooms are clean, have everything you need and staff are helpful for anything else.
Definitely recommend if you want to be somewhere social and lively.
Went to Vancouver for Canucks game the room was good was relatively quiet, beds were adequate. Only downside was having to leave the room to go to the bathroom or take a shower. Other than that it was good. Next to a bar was nice as well.
For what you pay, this was a pretty good hostel. The building is a little old so the interior isn't the nicest, but staff try to clean the common areas and bathrooms as often as possible so it is still pretty good. The two cats on the first floor are amazing and very friendly hosts. The walls are a little thin, same with windows so sound from outside and inside travels a fair bit, so maybe not the ideal place if you want to go to bed early (especially on Friday/Saturday). Management were pretty nice and helpful, and for the most part guests staying were friendly too. The hostel is close to a somewhat sketchy part of town (but not directly in it) and I found that the room temperatures fluctuated (others felt cold as well). Overall was a pretty positive stay and would definitely recommend for those on a budget and looking for a more party environment.
The price and location are great. The convineince of being able to store and cook food is also good, and it's always fun meeting people from around the world of course.
The hostel is right above a bar that played loud dance music until 3:00 a.m. Unless you are a night owl I don't recommend it for sleeping. It is also quite run down. The beds are comfy and the rooms perfectly fine, but the bathrooms are pretty grim with old peeling floors. Still, a bargain, and friendly staff.
I stayed at the Cambie Hostel while I was traveling internationally solo to Vancouver to see Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour. I felt safe and it was a lovely walk to the stadium. It got a little loud until about 2am so if you're looking to go to bed early, this isn't the spot. But we had so much fun meeting everyone. The rooms were clean and the staff was so great. My Taysation at the Cambie was purrfect. Meow to the cats for me <3
