The Freepoint Hotel Boston provided comfortable surroundings for our family during Tufts Parents Weekend. The location is convenient, with plenty of shops and cafés nearby — we grabbed breakfast at Starbucks next door.
The lobby, however, had a very strong disinfectant smell which wasn’t the most welcoming first impression. A softer, more sophisticated scent would go a long way. That said, the hotel’s open common area was a real highlight — spacious, modern, and perfect for working or relaxing. My kids and I spent most of the day there working and really appreciated it.
The rooms are a little tired but adequate. My main frustration was the pricing — over $400 a night felt excessive for the standard and amenities offered. Price surges like that make it less likely we’d return.
On the positive side, the staff were excellent — friendly, helpful, and even printed out some papers for us, which we truly appreciated.
