Arrived in the evening, rather tired, and a most charming and friendly young man was working at reception. (And delightful woman when I checked out too.) He walked me to the lift and explained that I was to press '0'. The basement?! He reassured me that it was actually a duplex, and it turned out to be a very good choice of room indeed! Located moments from the Grand Palace and streets filled with restaurants and the Bruxelles-Central station, but on a calm side street, the hotel was a peaceful find, and my specific room overlooking a courtyard was even more so. One could have heard a pin drop. I slept like an exhausted baby. The internal staircase, however, requires a bit of attention paying - when going down to the bathroom, make an effort to notice where the first step actually is, not where you think it's going to be! I would very happily stay here again.

Friendly staff. Convenient location. The room was clean. Something people should know is that at least one room has a very strange design, with the bed up a flight of stairs that no drunk person should use at night. If you have a disability or special needs, be sure to specify no stairs room. Otherwise, it is a perfectly serviceable place to sleep close to the central train station.

Amazing check in service and friendly and amazing staff, they were so keen to help and go out of their way to make us welcome despite being from England. I loved the vibe and the area was fantastic. The ease of check in and out was brilliant and the breakfast was fine. The only concern I had was that the air conditioning was only allowed to be set at hot and I feel sick when a room is warm so I couldn’t cool it down using the air conditioning meaning I had an uncomfortable nights sleep. Please Europe consider asking guests on check in whether they’ll require cool air rather than being set at the European temperature (warm) Otherwise an amazing stay and I will definitely be back!

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. It was located in such a beautiful part of Brussels that was literally 30 seconds from the centre. The Italian restaurant opposite was gorgeous. The staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome. The bathroom wasn’t great - it was quite small, the shower and sink had weird water pressure and temperature. The shower seemed to either be cold or slowly kept getting hotter and burnt you. The room could do with a fridge to be able to keep water cold too as the sink tap didn’t produce super cold water. The bed also wasn’t the comfiest so didn’t sleep great but that might be personal preference. The breakfast was okay - nothing super fancy but tasted fine and filled us up. There were hot and cold options and nice pastries, fruit, and drinks. However, we would stay here again if we were to visit Brussels because of the hotel location, price, and friendly staff.

Nice hotel - but heating doesn't work. :(

Normally I really like to stay at Alma. Such a nice location, good rooms and delicious breakfast. But this time a REALLY cold room - and the newly installed heating had no effect what so ever. I give it one more shot - or sadly, I have to find other hotel in Brussels.

Superb room

A lovely room on the top floor, with a quirky bathroom on a lower floor with steps down to it from the bedroom, very unique and a bit tight for us as a little larger than average but still a lively room with great views.
