Beautiful beach escape

Beautiful full service all inclusive. Loved how much beach and chair access there was on the beach. Main food hall is great, most restaurant are fine but not great except the Tepenyaki- that spot was excellent. Loved the roomy suite. Didn’t use the patio pool because it was not heated. It’s a big but not too big resort. Bummer that Pepsi products were the standard.

I’m so happy we chose Catalonia for our vacation, the food is amazing, cheers to the chefs! We have stayed in a couple of resorts in Cancun and Punta Cana and I can say Catalonia grand Costa Mujeres has the best food. They offer delicious options for lunch including Peruvian restaurant, Mexican restaurant, Italian and burgers (besides the buffet). The room was clean, comfortable bed and Karina the house keeper was always attentive and friendly, our room stayed clean and organized during our whole stay. Definitely will come back.

Overall very nice hotel with good amenities. the food was not great. The main buffet always had the same things, no variety. Also the wait to be seated at the buffet was too long while there were always tables available. The steak house and the mexican restaurant were good. The staff was nice and friendly but felt like they were understaffed. We ordered room service that never arrived. We ended up falling asleep waiting for our order. I asked for a birthday special for my husband, they said they’ll do a banner on the door and will have cake and champagne in the room. They did the banner but no cake and champagne. Also the room bathrooms did not have locks. Very inconvenient when staying with family.

Loved our stay at the Catalonia. Dining was great with mains at the buffet complimented by dining experiences at the themed restaurants. See lots of reviews about difficulties getting reservations of which was Easily solved by understanding the booking system cycle and making reservations early in that cycle Beach -While we had a few windy days of which was great for fun in the waves with my kids the beach was fantastic and well maintained . The resident bar was well serviced and beautifully situated as well (we had the privileged option) Would have been nice to have the ocean sports (kayaks, paddle boards etc) a little better communicated as to their availability etc but that’s small stuff. Staff customer service cleanliness Etc - this is where the Catalonia shines with very friendly staff who go above and beyond to try to please and we really appreciated their efforts. Our room was always maintained top notch , and immaculate. Service as mentioned as great although at times there seemed to be not enough staff for service , particular at bar after theatre ended . Theatre and entertainment - was super fun ! Highly recommend this resort to families ! Thanks Catalonia

The sheets, curtain and floor had stains within the bedroom. There was some little things that were annoying like the bathroom sinks too forever to drain. The staff was really nice, but I've had better experiences at other resorts in MX. At dinner one night, they gave me USED chopsticks! When we told the staff member, they just brushed it off. No alcohol in the drinks, unless you ask for extra. The property is nice, and I think they have a lot of potential. But their hospitality training needs some attention.
