Very good

The room had recently been refurbished, so looked fresh and had a good bathroom. All the staff were very friendly, but not too attentive - especially at breakfast, as anything not already out in the buffet was a "challenge" to order. We received a message on the last night of 4 from the manager asking to let him know about any issues - that would be better to send on the first or second night? No requests about holding a loyalty card, but that could be due to booking via Expedia.
We had a wonderful stay, thankyou to all the reception and bar staff who were so helpful and attentive, and Teri for the housekeeping of our room. We would definitely stay there again.
Lovely hotel. Staff were very attentive. Breakfast was lovely. My only objection was that the website didn't state that there is a £20 per dog per night charge. I only found out after I had booked.
It was good weather last weekend when we visited Canterbury and Dover. We had a very good family trip including a warm and cozy stay at Best Western Abbots Barton Hotel.
Friendly reception staff. Upgrade on arrival.
Lovely refurbished room. Nice breakfast.
Close to town centre. Quiet. Highly recommend.

We paid extra for an executive room but it didn't meet the description. A good sized room with quite a lot of it as empty space. On our last morning there was no hot water for a shower for which an apology was not offered. The corridor carpets are "mended" with tape. Not great value for money.
Comfortable stay in newly renovated/built room. Ten minute walk to the city with plenty of free parking. Room was similar to a Premier Inn but was brand new. Breakfast was not included so we didn’t try it, but there is a Waitrose and a. Tesco Extra about a ten minute walk away. Only downside was that there is currently major construction going on at the hotel so 8:30am on the dot we were deafened by loud noise.
We loved staying here. It really had a mix of modern and historical. Felt like a proper English hotel and had a tub in our room!! Hard to find in Europe. There was some construction but it wasn’t impacting our experience and it’s obvious they’re reinvesting in the property and up keep which makes me know I would want to stay there again in years to come.

Liked: Amenities
Overall can’t complain. The staff were great and the hotel was in such a convenient location. The room needed a bit of TLC, almost all the fixtures were loose, but it was spotlessly clean (shout out to Michelle thank you!). Would stay here again but would eat elsewhere, the food was nice but too overpriced for what it was.

Lovely place, rooms could use an update but for what it’s worth it’s cozy and easily accessible from either the main road or the short walk through the backroads. Excellent location as there’s a nice quiet 10-15 minute walk to the city centre.
A friendly staff, comfortable room, affordable prices and excellent location make this a great place for a good night’s sleep in Canterbury. We could see the Cathedral tower out of our window.

+ Well located near centre, free parking. Excellent friendly helpful front desk girl (eventually).
- arrived and noone around , notice to call 0 , noone answered. No one in bar. . After a while and deciding to at least find loo bumped into clearly overworked " do it all " girl. Pity cos she was extremely helpful eventually - re buses , petrol station etc.
- big minus. Our room was on 3rd in roof . Corridors extremely hot and so was the room. Aircon in room refused to reset from 24c. Opened veluxs - was well into the night before room reached a suitable sleeping temp.
Hotel seems to be having work done (restaurant wasnt available for instance) and by general appearance of common areas and corridors, not before time.
We had only chosen it as suitable and reasonably priced stopoff for Channel Tunnel for which it proved ideal simple drive in morning so on balance it did what we wanted without being anything to write home about.
Lucky that we had a renovated room. The rest of the hotel is very tired & in need of an update.
Many unhappy customers with the service at dinner. The coffe at breakfast was undrinkable.
