Lovely old building, good toiletries in bathroom. Vegan breakfast was good, decaf coffee stood out as excellent. Happy hour for guests between 6-7 which was handy before a night out, 2 for 1 on certain drinks. Downside, room too hot so had to open window in night, then heard glass bins getting emptied at 3.40am and others slightly later.

Good breakfast, although I would have preferred fried egg instead of scrambled eggs but that's trivial. Comfortable bed in my room and a decent shower area. Staff are pleasant and polite. If I need to stay in Canterbury, my first option will be The Falstaff Hotel again.

Everything about falstaff is great, however on this particular stay, there was no TV signal which meant a very quiet evening in followed by a cold shower as there was no hot water the next day. Management apologised and offered me a cappuccino the next morning!!!!!!

Had a lovely stay whilst visiting the Christmas Market. Hotel was lovely and the bar staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plenty and freshly cooked. On the day we were due to depart we noticed a plaque of ants around the socket area and in the bed, we did report this to reception when checking out, only to find out the couple in the room next door also had ants. We all left there feeling very itchy.

We stayed in room 12 which has a bath in the bedroom. Still not sure this is really a desirable option but it was interesting. The place is great, well-situated and friendly. No restaurant other than for breakfast but there are plenty of options nearby. We were woken at 6 on both mornings by noises (running water one time, something like a boiler firing up on the other occasion) but this is a fairly minor quibble.
