Check in was fine, the young lady was pleasant/friendly. The room was fairly large but "tired". There was a small wardrobe. There were burn marks on the carpet, and black staining (possibly mould) on the skirting boards in the corner. The bathroom had an instantaneous electric heater for the shower. Some of the sealant was stained.blackbblack

The stay in general was okay. However, if reception is only open till a certain time, that kind of information should be passed on to guests instead of having them wait outside with no way to access inside or call whoever’s supposed to be at the desk. The room that was booked also did not match what was in the photos so that was a bit of a let down as well.

We arrived at the venue which seemed lovely from the outside. Once checked in we got to our room to find that the bed was not a super king size and was in fact the smallest double bed I have ever seen. This resulted in one of us having to sleep on the floor as there was not enough space for two people to share the bed. The plug socket at the dressing table was sparking when using my hair appliances which was not my fault. The plug socket near the door was very unsafe and was hanging from the wall. We could have reported these issues with the staff but, there was no staff in sight. We had the pleasure of listening to planes flying over every 30 seconds through the night apart from a 2 hour gap where we finally got some sleep for the noise to start again at 5:30 am. We were totally disgusted and had no option to pack our bags up the Saturday morning and make our way to another hotel which was more money out of our pockets. We tried to ask for a refund but again there was no staff anywhere for us to find. The pictures on the website did not match the reality of the rooms, apart from the ones they really wanted you to see for you to fall in the trap of booking a room. The price of the breakfast was disgusting especially with only being able to choose either 1 sausage or 1 bacon slice on the full English. I would not recommend this hotel if you want a good nights sleep and be able to enjoy the comfort of the beds.

Nice location.

In a nice location. Very quiet apart from the aircraft flying over, but they stopped during the night. Bed was a bit uncomfortable. We booked a double room but it was more like a small double as the bed wasn’t very big. That said, we would stay again.

Cute and Quirky

It's a little odd, but nice like staying in an old Aunties house. Bed was comfortable and clean. Checkin easy with friendly staff. Free parking. I chose the executive suite which I would not do again. The room door opens directly into a communal lounge and breakfast area. Luckily no one was using it, but would be very noisy and very uncomfortable if so. The room had a nice conservatory, but no internal doors. So you are only separated from the cold outside and aircraft noise by a plastic roof and a curtain. Would stay again at this pleasant hotel but would just book an upstairs standard room.

We booked this room as a pit stop filling a late flight and a long drive home. £60 online through Expedia. Arrived just after 9pm and was given room key card, found room, pleasent enough; simple, basic. Just what we wanted. Found about half a dozen slithery looking bugs on the bathroom floor. Got into bed as exhausted and could hear the planes overhead quite clearly. Woke early the next morning and pulled the curtains back to find that the window was open half an inch and couldn't actually be locked closed in any of the handle positions. We left around 6am. The lock mechanism on the door didn't work either. Overall, a place to stick your head for the night but don't expect anything less than bare minimum from the room. On a positive, the staff member who checked us in was very lovely

Fine for one night but basic facilities

The hotel is fairly worn, feels cold and lacks any character for such an old building. Breakfast was ok but the continental selection was poor and limited. Fine for a quick stop over but wouldn’t recommend for any longer.
